Value: $200 each month for every dependant child you have for each year of your full-time studies.
Canada Student Grants are available to students from most provinces and territories except those from the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Quebec. These governments have their own student financial assistance programs. If you qualify for a Canada Student Loan, you are automatically assessed for most Canada Student Grants, with the exception of the Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Permanent Disabilities, which requires a separate application. You may be eligible to receive more than one grant.
The Canada Student Grant for Full-Time Students with Dependants is available to low-income students with dependants while enrolled in a full-time program at a designated post-secondary institution.
- Apply and qualify for student financial assistance (have at least a $1 of assessed financial need)
- Are from a low-income family as defined by the Canada Student Loans Program
- Are enrolled in a full-time degree, diploma, or certificate program (at least 12 weeks long within a period of 15 weeks in a row) at a designated post-secondary institution
- Have a dependant who will be under 12 years of age at the beginning of the study period (or a dependant 12 years of age or older with a permanent disability)
Deadline: Your eligibility for this Canada Student Grant is assessed automatically when you apply and qualify for student financial assistance through your province or territory of residence.
