Digital Strategy Fund – Transformation of Organizational Models | Canada Council for the Arts

Value:

o      Single-phase initiative: $1,000– $250,000

o      Multi-phase initiative: $251,000 – $500,000

Description:

Project grants to help arts organizations transform the way they work (including their strategic and operational frameworks) so that they are in a better position to address challenges and seize opportunities for development and outreach through digital initiatives. Applicants may request a grant for:

o      Single-phase initiative: Initiatives for which the objectives, timelines and expected results are clearly set out

o      Multi-phase initiative: Initiatives for which the objectives and intentions are clearly established and require an iterative approach to achieve desired results

Eligibility:

o      Professional artists

o      Arts professionals (excluding consultants and third-party service providers)

o      Artistic groups

o      Canadian arts organizations

Eligible Expenses:

Exploring, developing, implementing or optimizing existing digital initiatives in order to help arts organizations transform the way they work so they are in a better position to address challenges and seize opportunities to innovate, develop and amplify through digital initiatives. Eligible activities include but are not limited to:

o      Digital visions or strategies

o      New governance or management approaches (royalties, collective agreements, etc.) in order to meet digital requirements

o      Redesign exercises, meetings and other preparatory work

o      Freeware and open data initiatives

o      Long-term viability of existing digital initiatives

o      Creation of new networks, partnerships or alliances

o      Migration towards open access and open data
