Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all keeping well.

Also, at the bottom of every email, I put a quote to help you keep moving forward. I’m just finishing a book from that author. It was a great read on mindset. Check it out if that interests you.

Finally, you will find many open grants below. I hope you find one that works for you.

Kind regards,

Tip of the Week

If you’re doing anything innovative, I recommend you speak to the grant agency before you write.

Even when the grant guidelines say something like, “we welcome innovation,” you better call them early in the grant writing process. Your idea of innovation and their idea might not align. Remember also, you’re one person (or often a small team), and they have multiple stakeholders and checks and balances before they can say “yes, here is free taxpayer money.”

I’m sure making a funding decisions is challenging. If they screw up, their boss is on the front page of the paper being screamed at. Imagine the online comments. It wouldn’t be fun.

So respect where the grant agency is coming from, and most importantly, respect your mental health, time and money. Speak with them before you write, then do your best. It’s all you can do.
