Eligible organizations can apply for funding to build Alberta’s capacity to support newcomers and address impacts related to COVID-19.
You can apply to have your project funded under one of two streams (Call for proposals):
- Small centre and rural capacity – Projects will develop and build the capacities of small centres/rural areas to be welcoming and inclusive.
- COVID-19 response – Projects will encourage communities to come together to address the impact of COVID-19 on newcomers and newcomer service-providing organizations.
Eligible Applicants
To apply for a grant, applicant organizations and projects must meet these guidelines.
Small centre and rural capacity grants:
To be eligible for this grant, applicants must be a:
- municipality, including municipal district
- chamber of commerce
- business improvement organization
- community development organization
- economic development organization
Applicants must:
- be a legal entity in Alberta
- have the ability, including financial management, to implement the grant agreement; and
- demonstrate at least 2 years of relevant experience in related activities to those being proposed in the application
COVID-19 response grants:
To be eligible for this grant, applicants must be a:
- non-profit organization
- post-secondary institutions
- municipality, including small centres and rural areas
- registered company, for example, consultants or business owner
Applicants must:
- be a legal entity in Alberta
- have at least 2 years of experiences related to the activities in their proposals
- have the ability, including financial management, to implement the grant agreement
