CNOOC International’s Community Investment program helps strengthen the communities where we live and work. Through meaningful corporate gifts including donations and sponsorships, we prioritize funding for projects that provide long-term and sustainable results that have a positive impact on our communities.

Eligible Applicants

  • Charitable organizations with proof of status as defined by the laws of the country in which they operate. For example:
    • Registration number from the Canada Revenue Agency
    • 501(c)3 status in the United States
    • Registration number from the Charity Commission in England and Wales
    • Registration with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator
    • Registered charity number from the Charities Regulator in Ireland
  • Non-profit organizations with a business number or equivalent information
  • Community organizations
  • Indigenous groups

Eligible Expenses

Our funding priorities are:

  • Supporting Thriving & Safe Communities
    • We focus on helping individuals and families in need to access resources and opportunities to help them reach their full potential. In addition, we support initiatives that contribute to advancing safety and emergency response in the communities where we operate.
  • Advancing Education
    • Through scholarships and bursaries, we are helping to advance the educational attainment of young people in our communities. In particular, we focus on funding programs that are related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), to help build capacity and to positively impact our business and industry.
  • Capacity Building for Indigenous Communities
    • Supporting our Indigenous stakeholders in a key pillar in our Community Investment program. We focus on providing funding that enables capacity building, educational advancement and thriving communities.
  • Green and Low-Carbon Initiatives
    • We are committed to doing our part to protect the environment in which we operate. By implementing programs and technology focused on reducing carbon emissions, we are proactively responding to climate change challenges.
  • Employee Programs
    • Through our ReachOut program, we support the organizations and initiatives that our important to our employees. We match employee donations to charitable and non-profit organizations. We also support employee volunteerism in the community through volunteer days, volunteer rewards and sports grants.
