Description

Artistic Creation is part of the Explore and Create program. It supports artistic research and experimentation, creation, production and public sharing of artistic work. Canadian artists, groups and arts organizations can apply for project grants to develop, create and share artistic works at any or all stages of the creative process.

Eligible Applicants

Potential applicants:

  • Artists or arts workers
  • Artistic groups
  • Artistic organizations
  • Business cultural connectors
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis artists or arts/cultural workers
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis cultural carriers
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis for-profit organizations
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis groups or collectives
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis not-for-profit organizations

Organizations presently receiving core grants cannot apply.

If you are an individual working for a group or organization that is receiving a composite or core grant, you may only apply for a personal project that is not associated with the activities of that group or organization.

  • Artistic research
  • Artistic experimentation
  • Creation of artistic work
  • Production of artistic work
  • Artists and community collaboration
  • Public sharing of artistic work (this option must include at least one of the above activities)

Deadline Date

Applications for the Explore and Create — Artistic Creation grant are accepted on a continuous basis. You must submit your application any time before the start date of your project or activity. Results are usually provided within 5 months of submission. Please visit the official Canada Council for the Arts website for complete details and guidelines.
