This Heritage Preservation Partnership Program administers the following grants and scholarships:

The Heritage Preservation Partnership Program (HPPP) provides matching grants and scholarship funds to support initiatives that preserve and interpret Alberta’s heritage.

This fund aims to help develop skills in heritage conservation in Alberta by providing financial support to eligible individuals who wish to attend training and organizations who wish to deliver training in heritage conservation.

Eligible Applicants

This Heritage Preservation Partnership Program administers the following grants and scholarships. Learn your eligibility below:

  • Bob Etherington Heritage Conservation Fund – The maximum amount available is $3,000. Deadline: First working day of October.
  • Heritage awareness grants – Maximum grant is $25,000. Deadline: First working day of February.
  • Historic resource conservation grants – Maximum matching grants are as follows: Provincial Historic Resources – $100,000 per historic place; Municipal Historic Resources – $50,000 per historic place; Indigenous historic places – $50,000 per historic place. In addition to a grant for conservation work, a matching of grant of $25,000 is also available for studies, reports, plans and professional services for architects, engineers and other professional consultants associated with the conservation of a historic place. Deadline: First working day of February.
  • Research grants – Provide matching grants of up $25,000. Deadline: First working day of February.
  • Roger Soderstrom Scholarship – An individual is limited to one award of up to $5,000 per degree program. Deadline: First working day of October.
  • Publication grants – Publication grants provide matching grants of up to $10,000 for the production of books and $3,000 for brochures, pamphlets, and booklets. Deadline: First working day of February.
