Value
Maximum non-repayable contribution amount of up to $2,000 for each temporary foreign workerDescription
The Mandatory Isolation Support for Temporary Foreign Workers Program (MISTFWP) is a $142-million program to help with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on food supply in Canada by assisting the farming, fish harvesting, and food production and processing sectors.
The 3-Day Hotel Quarantine Stream will assist Canadian employers with some of the incremental costs specifically associated with the mandatory quarantine period at a Government-authorized facility imposed under the Quarantine Act on temporary foreign workers upon entering Canada, when travel directly via private transportation from their point of entry to employer-provided accommodation for their mandatory 14-day isolation period cannot be provided.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible recipients under the program are Canadian employers directly involved in the farming, fish harvesting, and food production and processing sectors who have hired workers through the various streams of the Temporary Foreign Workers Program and/or the International Mobility Program and whose workers were subject to the mandatory 3-day hotel quarantine imposed under the Quarantine Act.
Eligible Expenses
Canadian employers can apply for funding under the 3-Day Hotel Quarantine Stream if they have incurred incremental costs associated with their worker’s mandatory 3-day quarantine at a Government-authorized approved facility, such as:
- accommodations at a Government-authorized hotel for 3 days
- food, security, transportation and infection prevention control measures associated with the Government-authorized hotel stay
- other incremental costs directly associated with the Government-authorized hotel stay imposed on temporary foreign workers under the Quarantine Act
