Through Outdoor Air Purifier program, Global Affairs Canada is seeking a solution that will aid in the purification of air in areas around GAC buildings where there is excessive smoke and exhaust exposure.
Eligible Applicants
Solution proposals can only be submitted by a small business that meets all of the following criteria:
- for profit
- incorporated in Canada (federally or provincially)
- 499 or fewer full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- research and development activities that take place in Canada
- 50% or more of its annual wages, salaries and fees are currently paid to employees and contractors who spend the majority of their time working in Canada
- 50% or more of its FTE employees have Canada as their ordinary place of work
- 50% or more of its senior executives (Vice President and above) have Canada as their principal residence
Eligible Expenses
The program will fund projects that proposed solutions to the purification of air in areas around GAC buildings:
- significantly reduce air pollution in the shuttle stop area
- not produce GHG emissions or other toxic products when operating
- be energy efficient
- be of a reasonable size to fit in the shuttle stop area (10 m by 25 m) and still allow the area to function as a shuttle stop
- be simple and user friendly
- be low maintenance (does not require more than one hour per month to maintain)
- be visually appealing to GAC
- not require cleaning out of captured smoke and fumes
- be able to function in low light
- have a noise level of less than 70 decibels.
- be able to function outdoors and year round; be functional in temperature range -35 degrees Celsius to +35 degrees Celsius); be water proof
In addition, the proposed solutions should:
- be fitted with seats
- be fitted with a canopy to shield from rain and strong wind for use in less sheltered areas
