The Soil and Water Sustainability Program assists farmers to mitigate on-farm environmental risk for soil and water as identified in their individual Environmental Farm Plans that accelerate environmental farm stewardship in Nova Scotia.
Eligible Applicants
A farm that:
- Has a current Farm Registration
- Is at least 19 years of age
- Reports farming income & expenses that show gross commodity income of at least $30,000

- Water Well Management
- Improved Water Practices and Efficiencies
- Fuel and Chemical Storage
- Improved Manure Storage, Composting and Handling
- Winter Pasturing Management
- Farmyard Runoff
- Field Water Management
- Erosion Control Structures
- Enhancing Riparian and Agro-Ecosystem Health
