Description

Sector Support, Innovation and Development is part of the Supporting Artistic Practice program. It funds projects by artists, arts professionals, cultural connectors, groups and organizations. These projects encourage and support the ongoing growth, strengthening and development of the arts sector.

Eligible Applicants

Potential applicants:

  • Artists or arts workers
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis artist or arts/cultural workers
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis cultural carriers
  • Artistic groups
  • Arts supporting groups
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis groups or collectives
  • Artistic organizations
  • Supporting organizations
  • Presenting organizations
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis not-for-profit organizations
  • Business cultural connectors
  • First Nations, Inuit or Métis for-profit organizations

Eligible Expenses

  • Advancing or developing resources in the arts sector: adapting or exploring structures or systems, digital platform development, resource sharing and support models
  • Supporting artists: production, representation or management services for Canadian artists, groups or organizations
  • Nurturing learning and continuous improvement: providing opportunities for mentoring or professional development for artists and arts workers, network building and advancing artistic practice
  • Gathering, collaborating and exchanging: sector research, sharing or publishing knowledge, networking and magazines that support artistic or literary practice
  • Sector-building for and by equity- and sovereignty-seeking arts communities: activities that support and develop equity-seeking and First Nations, Inuit and Metis arts communities
  • Testing solutions: exploring or implementing innovative solutions to complex sectoral issues
  • Organizational improvement, development and/or capacity building (including digital capacity): activities that increase an organization’s stability, sustainability and relevance to its community

Deadline Date

Applications for the Supporting Artistic Practice — Sector Support, Innovation and Development program are accepted on a continuous basis.
