Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) – Designated Communities Stream | Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)

Value: Varies

Addressing homelessness is a challenge in all regions of Canada. The Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS) is a community-based program aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness by providing direct support and funding to communities and to organizations that address homelessness across Canada.

As a result of Budget 2016, the Rural and Remote Homelessness funding stream no longer gives priority to non-designated communities with a population of less than 25,000.

This increase in flexibility will provide opportunities for more communities across the country to access funding. The Rural and Remote Homelessness funding stream is available to all non-designated communities.

Organizations in non-designated communities can apply, regardless of the size of the community’s population.

Eligible Projects:

Applicants must demonstrate that the proposed project meets a need in the community and has broad community support. Cost-matching by community partners is not required, although partnerships are encouraged. In addition, projects selected for funding must not create a dependence on, or expectation for, ongoing funding.

Deadline: Ongoing
