The Market Access Strategy for Official Language Minority Communities (OLMC) Fund aims to increase access of applicants from OLMCs to a diversity of markets and publics.
This fund supports Canadian professional artists, arts professionals, artistic groups and arts organizations who belong to an Official Language Minority Community (OLMC). An OLMC is defined as a group of people whose maternal or chosen official language is not the majority language in their province or territory. In other words, Anglophones in Quebec and Francophones outside of Quebec.
o Self-identifies as a member of an Official Language Minority Community
o Is eligible to apply for Canada Council programs
Eligible expenses include direct costs related to market development activities. These activities include (but are not limited to):
o Touring and travel to disseminate work
o Participation in showcases
o Sub- and sur-titling for performing and media arts
o Translation of promotional materials
o Professional development such as residencies and exchanges
o Networking and relationship-building
o Market research
o Presence at cultural trade fairs
o Capacity-building services such as the development of workshops or online tools
