Supports for Newcomer Integration – Community Integration Stream | Alberta Labour

Value: Maximum $150,000


The Supports for Newcomer Integration program provides funding for community-based projects that support the settlement and integration of all newcomers to Alberta, including refugees. Proposals in this Stream may seek to support immigrants in overcoming barriers to community integration, and/ or build the capacity of communities (including agencies, organizations, community groups and mainstream service providers) to create welcoming and inclusive communities.


o      Established non-profit organizations / community groups

o      Post-secondary institutions

o      Municipalities and other public-sector organizations

o      Indigenous organizations

o      Registered companies/Sole proprietors

Projects Involving a Partnership

The applying organization:

o      Must meet all the eligibility criteria listed above

o      Is the fiscal agent

o      Should have the lead role in planning the project scope, timeline and deliverables

o      Should lead the project coordination

o      Will be accountable for all project deliverables and reporting requirements

Partner organizations:

o      Will have a role in planning the scope, timeline, and / or deliverables of the project

o      Should not seek financial gain as the primary benefit of being a partner Note: A contractor who will be hired to execute a specific task or component of the project is not considered a partner organization


o      Permanent Residents (refugees and immigrants)

o      Naturalized Canadian Citizens

o      Refugee claimants

o      Communities and Workplaces

o      Service Providers
