RBC believes in supporting arts organizations and artists in a range of genres including visual art, music, theatre, performance, literature and film. We support programs that provide emerging artists with mentorship, apprenticeships and exposure to new and diverse audiences throughout their career. Our support of the arts has been a long-standing priority as we recognize that the arts play an important role in building vibrant communities and strong economies.
Registered charities or other qualified donee through the Canada Revenue Agency, or registered IRS 501 (c)3 charities or have official charitable status as designated by the local regulatory authority.
An RBC emerging artist is most or all of the following:
o Is between the ages of 18 and 35 n Is in the early stages of their career, usually within the few first years of pursuing a career in their field
o Demonstrates a commitment to devoting more time to artistic activity
o Is involved in their creative community
o Has not yet been showcased beyond their primary country of residence
o Devotes a minimum of 24 hours per week to their pursuit of their art
o Shows a financial commitment to their practice, and seeks income through their artistic work
o Has a small history of presentation or publication
o Is enrolled in, or has recently graduated from, a related degree/diploma program
o Self identifies as emerging
