Knowledge Translation Grant | ResearchNB

Description

The ResearchNB Knowledge Translation (KT) grant is intended to support capacity building by helping defray costs associated with KT such as, but not limited to, the cost of publication, marketing materials, communications, or travel. Travel expenses will be considered if they are for the purpose of making a presentation (oral or poster) as lead author or presenter at a conference or other professional meeting outside of Atlantic Canada.

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible, the applicant must be either:

  • An independent individual conducting health research at a New Brunswick university, college, research institution, health service organization, voluntary health organization, or not-for-profit organization;
  • A registered undergraduate or graduate student (master’s or doctoral program) under the direction of a clinical or academic health researcher at a university, college, research institution, health service organization, voluntary health agency, or a New Brunswick not-for-profit organization;
  • A postdoctoral fellow within 5 years of earning their doctorate under the direction of a clinical or academic health researcher at a university, college, research institution, health service organization, voluntary health agency, or a non-profit organization in New Brunswick.

and

  • Have not received a ResearchNB KT grant within the fiscal year.
  • If a student, must be supported by their supervisor via a letter of support.

Eligible Expenses

Expenses must be directly linked to the KT activity of the proposed project and can include:

  • Publication, dissemination, marketing and/or other communications costs.
  • Event registration fees at the lowest applicable registration rate, such as the early bird registration fee.
  • Round-trip economy class airfare for an event.
  • Economical accommodation for an event, including one night directly with the start of the meeting until the day following the end of the meeting.
  • Daily meals
    • Allowance – $10 breakfast, $20 lunch, $30 dinner
