Description

To raise awareness and stimulate mobilization for the development or improvement of foods of good nutritional quality, foods of improved nutritional value or foods of health value.

Eligible Applicants

Businesses or organizations that fall into any of the following categories are eligible:

  • food processing business clusters;
  • research or technology transfer institutions;
  • non-profit organizations specializing in food processing;
  • Dissemination centres;
  • consulting firms;
  • cooperatives.

These companies or organizations must also meet the following requirements:

  • be registered in the Québec enterprise register;
  • be located in Québec or have at least one establishment or branch located in Québec

Eligible Expenses

Financial assistance covers 70% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $300,000 per fiscal year. The maximum financial assistance is $900,000 per applicant for the duration of the program. The minimum eligible expenses are $40,000. To be eligible, the project must pursue one of the following objectives:

  • Promote networking and coordination of the actors concerned to better meet the needs of food processing companies in terms of the development of foods of good nutritional quality, foods with improved nutritional value or foods with health value.
  • Conduct training and information activities that enable the bio-food sector to acquire knowledge of food as it relates to health, in order to promote change, while remaining nutritionally linked to the program’s criteria.
  • Engage in activities that promote successes in creating foods of good nutritional quality or modifying foods to foods of improved nutritional value or health value, or that promote best practices in food processing companies.
  • Conduct studies, gather information or develop tools to inform companies about the development of foods of good nutritional quality, foods of enhanced nutritional value or foods of health value.
  • Undertake clinical studies to obtain scientific evidence on the nutritional characteristics of an ingredient that demonstrate its health benefits.

A call for projects will run from September 3 to October 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
