Governor General’s Literary Awards: Annual competition is $1,000 – $25,000. Deadlines: July 15, 2025.

Housing Research Awards – The 2025 application window will open this summer.

Al Maurer Awards Fund: 3 students receive awards ranging from $500 to $3,000. Deadline: September 30, 2025. 

John Hirsch Prizes: two (2) prizes of $6,000 each. Deadline: October 5, 2025.

NSERC Awards for Science Promotion. Nomination Deadline: November 15, 2025.

Groundbreaking is underway for a new stormwater management facility that will reduce the risk of overland flooding in the Coaldale region. 

Alberta’s government is taking action against family violence by investing $6 million in grants for community-based supports and services. 

Alberta’s government is helping bring together film and television leaders, creators and investors from around the world at the Banff World Media Festival. 

Premiers Smith and Ford have inked a new agreement to cooperate on opening up trade between the provinces and advance shared priorities within the Canadian federation. 

Alberta’s government is prioritizing emergency services, cancer care, and organ and tissue donation and transplantation in the province’s refocused health care system.
