The Advance Payments Program (APP) is a federal loan guarantee program designed to provide agricultural producers with easy access to low-interest cash advances. This program has an ongoing deadline. Link
The Back to Ag Program focuses on supporting the cost of adaptive technology for farmers who have experienced traumatic injuries. This program, funded by FCC and delivered in partnership with CASA and the Rick Hanson Foundation, accepts applications year-round. Link
The AMAAS Sponsorship + Bursary Program provides funding to support media artists and media arts organizations. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2020. Link
The J.B.C. Watkins Award in Architecture is available to Canadian architectural students looking to pursue postgraduate studies outside Canada, with a preference for Denmark, Norway, Sweden, or Iceland. The deadline for this award is October 1, 2020. Link
The Edmonton Regional Innovation Network (ERIN) has introduced a new Coach program that pairs individuals with experienced entrepreneurs or seasoned business executives. The selected coach will provide one-on-one guidance to address unique challenges and operational gaps. The application deadline is ongoing. Link
UPDATE: The Green Building Technology Network, managed through the Smart Sustainable Resilient Infrastructure Association (SSRI), is offering funding for specific incremental elements of approved building projects that incorporate new and alternate clean technologies. The deadline for applications is October 2, 2020. Link
The Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program, initiated by the Government of Canada, aims to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future by supporting electrification in the transportation sector. The application deadline is December 10, 2020. Link
Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund, with an initial funding of $2 billion, is dedicated to investing in companies that offer products and solutions facilitating the transition to a low-carbon economy. The program accepts applications on an ongoing basis. Link
The CanExport Community Investments program offers support to Canadian communities looking to enhance their capacity to attract, retain, and expand Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) with the goal of creating jobs for Canadians, fostering innovation, and increasing exports. The application deadline is October 14, 2020. Link
The Canadian International Innovation Program (CIIP) can provide financial assistance to eligible participants, covering 50% of all eligible expenses, for companies interested in joining the Virtual Smart Mining R&D Partnering Mission to Brazil, taking place on November 24-26, 2020. The Indigenous Career Pivot Project (ICPP) is launching a pilot program to facilitate and support meaningful work placements for Indigenous individuals interested in exploring career opportunities in the ocean economy. The deadline for applications is October 23, 2020. Link
The Short-Term Projects component of Creating, Knowing and Sharing provides funding to First Nations, Inuit, and Métis professional and aspiring artists, cultural carriers, arts and cultural professionals, groups, collectives, and arts/culture organizations. These grants offer support for eligible Creating, Knowing, and Sharing activities in projects lasting up to 12 months. The deadline for applications is December 9, 2020. Link
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pre-announcing the launch of the Indigenous Peoples and COVID-19 Knowledge Synthesis, Evaluation, and Assessment Grants Rapid Research Funding Opportunity. The application deadline is December 2020. Link
The Municipal Stimulus Program offers funding for capital infrastructure to promote economic recovery and job creation in municipalities and Metis Settlements. The application deadline is ongoing. Link

The Local Marketing Grant is designed to assist local businesses in developing marketing plans and materials that can boost cash flow and support economic recovery. The Promoting Health Equity: Mental Health of Black Canadians Fund is dedicated to supporting Black Canadians in developing culturally responsive knowledge, capacity, and programs to address mental health and its determinants in their communities. This fund offers a value ranging from $200,000 up to $480,000 for a two-year period. The application deadline for this opportunity is October 22, 2020. Partnership Engage Grants, valued at $7,000 to $25,000, provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector. The Strategic Networking and Development (SND) Program makes funding available to researchers at Alberta post-secondary institutions to support activities (‘Projects’) such as workshops, conferences, competitions, and other events which advance Alberta’s research and innovation focus in the Emerging Technology Priority Areas of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), Nanotechnologies (Nano), and ‘Omics technologies. The Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP) funds downstream research and development (R&D) projects that address real-world opportunities and challenges identified by industry, government, not-for-profits, and other “Receptors” of genomics knowledge and technologies.
