Main Street Revitalization – Capital program | Northern Development Initiative Trust

Up to $200,000 to a maximum of 70% of the eligible project budget. Up to $500,000 maximum lifetime contribution per community.

Description

The Main Street Revitalization – Capital program provides local governments and First Nation governments with grant funding to complete strategic public investments in public infrastructure within a community’s downtown/main street area.  These projects encourage private sector investment and creates a healthy and economically vibrant area for businesses, residents and tourists.

Eligible Applicants

All applicants must be located within Northern Development’s service region.

  • Local governments
  • First Nation Band Governments

Eligible Expenses

  • Capital expenditures considered to be direct and necessary for the successful implementation of an eligible project
  • Contractor fees
  • Incremental third-party project management
  • Rental of tools and equipment for construction work
  • Wages for direct project labour
  • CPP, EI, Pension (employer portion eligible to a maximum of 9.85%) related to direct project labour
  • PST
