The ASAQ program covers a portion of the cost of veterinary services for the benefit of agricultural producers. It also offers measures to promote the recruitment and retention of veterinarians, particularly in slower density regions. It provides financial assistance to veterinarians who work in designated veterinary establishments.
This program aims to:
- to promote animal health;
- improve animal health;
- facilitate access to curative care and preventive veterinary services as well as veterinary drugs;
- improve knowledge of the health status of livestock by collecting data on epidemiological surveillance;
- ensure the availability of veterinary services in the regions;
- Provide financial assistance to new veterinarians who wish to practice in the regions.
