Description

The Revitalization Project Macro-Grant, previously known as the Revitalization Matching Fund, is available to support new opportunities and activities in Revitalization Areas that align with the goals of neighbourhood revitalization for each eligible community involved with the City of Edmonton Neighbourhood Revitalization Initiative. Revitalization macro-project grants provide residents, businesses owners and operators, non-profit organizations $501-$20,000 in funding

Eligible Applicants

  • Organizations
  • Businesses
  • Associations
  • Ad Hoc Community Groups and Individuals: whose purpose is solely to carry out the specific project with support from an established organization can also apply but must include documentation that an established organization will act as a fiscal sponsor (for example, the fiscal sponsor agrees to accept and be responsible for grant monies on behalf of the applicant)

*Note* Any Association or Organization applying must have been formally registered within the Province of Alberta for at least a year, and should be able to provide at least one year’s worth of financial statements that follow generally accepted accounting principles if required.

Eligible Expenses

Eligible Projects and Expenses include:

  • Projects, initiatives and events that are open to the public and are free or low cost (cost recovery only)
  • Expenses directly tied to planning, implementation or evaluation of outcomes
  • Honorariums for persons or groups where fees are not legally or traditionally required (for example, indigenous elders, presenters, non-vendor licensed service providers).  *Honorariums are limited to $200/person
  • Gifts for indigenous protocol, knowledge keepers and Elders
  • Food and non-alcoholic beverages for volunteers or event attendees to a maximum of 10% of budgeted expenses
    • For example, if you are applying for the maximum $20,000 in grant funding, up to $2,000 may be allocated to food and beverage in the budget
  • Non-consumable expenses that are maintained by the group but available for community use at free or low cost-recovery fees.

Types of eligible projects or events may include but are not limited to:

  • Block parties
  • Neighbourhood art, social, cultural or recreational activities

Deadline Date

Applications are continuously accepted from January 1 to November 15.
