Below are a number of upcoming grant deadlines:

DECEMBER

  1. Short-Term Projects – Canada Council for the Arts : up to $100,000 to support for any combination of eligible projects lasting up to 12 months. Next deadline: December 12, 2023.
  2. National cost-sharing program for heritage places : Total funding available under the Program will be up to approximately $2,000,000. Deadline: December 12, 2023.
  3. Climate-Resilient Coastal Communities Program : may fund up to 100% of the total project costs. Deadline: December 13, 2023.
  4. ERA’s $40 million Emerging Innovators Challenge  will help Alberta businesses de-risk projects and reduce the time it takes to get them to market. Deadline: December 14, 2023.
  5. International Funding Opportunity: Knowledge Synthesis Grants on Evolving Narratives of Cultures and Histories . Deadline: December 14, 2023.
  6. Digital Creators Pilot Program  awards up to $20,000 in funding to support the growth trajectory of mid-career Canadian digital content creators. Deadline: December 14, 2023. 
  7. Canada–UK 2023-24 critical minerals sustainability and circularity call for proposals . Canadian registration deadline: December 15, 2023.
  8. Housing Supply Challenge Round 5 application is now open. Up to 20 foundational solutions will receive a $1,000,000 prize. Deadline: December 18, 2023.
  9. Persons Case Scholarship : 40 students will receive $2,500 each for their studies. Application through GATE until December 18, 2023.
  10. Canada Service Corps – Service Placements National Stream : funds up to $8,000,000 per fiscal year. Deadline: December 19, 2023.
  11. Canada Service Corps – Service Placements Regional Stream : Up to $3,000,000 per fiscal year. Deadline: December 19, 2023. 
  12. Canada Service Corps – Micro-grants Stream: provides up to $3,000,000. Deadline: December 19, 2023.
  13. Northern and Regional Economic Development Program : receive up to $200,000 to support eligible project costs. Deadline: December 20, 2023.
  14. Social Development Partnerships Program – Disability Component – Organizational Capacity Development Stream 1 . Up to $500,000 for a project that is up to 24 months in duration. Deadline: December 21, 2023.
  15. Social Development Partnerships Program – Disability Component – Intersectional Capacity Development Stream 2 . Up to $700,000 for a project that is up to 24 months in duration. Deadline: December 21, 2023.
  16. The  ACT Open Call  is a funding scheme that can support innovative and international CCUS projects. Application is open throughout 2023 until December 31, 2023.
  17. Gay Lea Foundation  accepts funding applications from registered Canadian charities. Fall application window will be open in September.
  18. INOVAIT Pilot Fund : up to $125,000 to support collaborative R&D projects with an aim towards commercialization. Deadline: December 20, 2023.
  19. Canada Greener Homes Grant : help homeowners save money, create new jobs across Canada for energy advisors and fight climate change. Provides rebate up to $5,000.
  20. Child care – Space Creation Grant  will help enable 42,500 total new non-profit licensed spaces to be created over the next 5 years. 
  21. Aviation Skills Grant : The government plans to launch a second intake this fall. Alberta’s government has a $5-million budget for the grant program in 2024-25.
  22. Creative Export Canada  provides up to $7M in funding per year to support export-ready projects. Export-Ready Stream’s next intake will be in the Fall of 2023.
  23. Call for Proposals under the  Capacity Building stream of the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways  is expected to open in fall 2023.
  24. First Nation Infrastructure Fund (FNIF)  helps improve and increase public infrastructure in First Nations. Deadline: Fall of each year.
  25. CanExport Associations : The 2024-25 application process for projects taking place between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025, is scheduled to commence in fall 2023.
  26. Take advantage of  Technology Alberta’s FIRST Jobs Programs  this fall. Acquire funding of up to $7,500 to hire quality talent across the province.
  27. Clean Tech Internships : Up to $30,000 is available to cover 80% of an intern’s salary, training and wrap-around service costs.
  28. Green Jobs Internship program : subsidize up to a maximum of $30,000 for youth ages 15 to 30 in the natural resources sector.
  29. Eurostars  is the largest international funding program for SMEs seeking to collaborate on R&D projects for commercialization.
  30. Alberta Export Expansion Program : provides reimbursement up to 75% on eligible costs.
  31. Alberta Innovates is still accepting new applications for the  Export Readiness – Micro Voucher
  32. Are you ready to go global or explore new markets? The  Trade Accelerator Program  is your ticket to take your business to the next level.

JANUARY

  1. Art for Social Change Public Art Residency : each artist or artist team will be paid $25,000 (not including GST) to participate. Deadline: January 5, 2024.
  2. Digital Greenhouse program : Up to $50,000 funding available. Deadline: January 8, 2024.
  3. CanExport Associations : The 2024-25 application process is open until January 9, 2024. Access up to $250,000 in annual funding. 
  4. Smart Grid Projects:  Demonstration Focus Area . Open to expressions of interest to January 10, 2024.
  5. Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ)  provides wage subsidies to employers to create quality summer work experiences for young people. Deadline: January 10, 2024.
  6. Documentary Heritage Communities Program : Application is now open until January 11, 2024.
  7. Applied Research Tools and Instruments grants  support the purchase of research equipment with up to $200,000 funding. Deadline: January 16, 2024.
  8. GHGT-17 Conference hosted by Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) . Call For Abstracts – Now Open. Deadline: January 16, 2024.
  9. Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations : provides wage subsidies to eligible employers. 2024-2025 funding cycle deadline: January 19, 2024.
  10. Listen, Hear our Voices: Library and Archives Canada (LAC) will award eligible projects up to $100,000. Deadline: January 30, 2024.
  11. Building Capacity with the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program : Request for Proposals intake window is now open until January 31, 2024.
  12. Energy Innovation Program Smart Grid Regulatory Innovation Capacity Building Call for Proposals : request between $250,000 and $1,500,000 funding. Deadline: January 31, 2024.
  13. Hire a temporary foreign worker through the  Recognized Employer Pilot . Phase 1 is now ongoing. Applications for Phase 2 will start in January 2024.
  14. Climate Innovation Grant Program : Expression of interest for the 2024 grant stream will open January, 2024.
  15. Green Industrial Facilities and Manufacturing Program – Energy Efficiency Solutions : access funding up to $20 million per proposal. Next call is anticipated to be launched in early 2024. 
  16. Aboriginal Fund for Species at Risk : Project funding usually ranges from $10,000 to $50,000 per project, per year. Application for projects commencing in 2024-2025 is now open.
  17. Application is now open for the  2023 Canada-Alberta Drought Livestock Assistance Program . Access up to $165 million to maintain breeding herds.
  18. Agri-Food and Bioindustrial Innovation Program : provides up to $500,000 per project and up to 75% of total project costs. Application is ongoing.
  19. Rural Transit Solutions Fund of the Capital Projects stream : applicants can apply for a contribution of up to $5 million. Application is ongoing.
  20. Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI) in the Prairie provinces : Applications are eligible for a maximum of $10 million on any one project.
  21. Health Facilities Program  provide funding for infrastructure that supports the delivery of health-related programs and services.
  22. Aboriginal Business Investment Fund : provides up to $750,000 to support an Indigenous community-owned economic development project. That could be up to 100% of eligible project costs.
  23. Aboriginal Fund for Species at Risk : Project funding usually ranges from $10,000 to $50,000 per project, per year. Application for projects commencing in 2024-2025 is now open.
  24. International Technology Partnership  supports Alberta businesses with up to $250,000 to develop products or to conduct pilot tests with an international partner.
  25. Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles (iMHZEV) Program : provide eligible purchasing/leasing organizations with incentives of up to $200,000.
  26. Woodcock Fund : aims to distribute more than $100,000 each year in grants ranging from $2,000 to $12,000, depending upon the severity of the emergency.

FEBRUARY

  1. Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages : benefit from salary subsidies and access to a pool of talented youth. Deadline: First come first serve to applications submitted after February 3rd.
  2. The  Accelerator Partnership Program (A2P)  is designed to provide producers of digital media projects. Application is first come, first served. Closing date: February 8, 2024.
  3. Low Carbon Economy Challenge : application is now open until February 8, 2024.
  4. The  Agricultural Societies Infrastructure Revitalization Program  provides annual capital funding to help agricultural societies make major repairs to existing infrastructure. Deadline: February 15, 2024.
  5. Alberta Real Estate Foundation funds initiatives that support and advance education, research, law reform, and other activities related to real estate. Up to $250,000 funding available. Deadline: February 27, 2024.
  6. Funding for Indigenous-led awareness and education projects for cleaner transportation and clean fuels . Call for proposals with continuous intake open until March 31, 2024, or until funds are fully allocated.
  7. The  Accelerator Partnership Program (A2P)  is designed to provide producers of digital media projects. Application is first come, first served. Closing date: February 8, 2024.
  8. Inventures 2024 Startup Pitch Event – Applications Now Open! Apply and have a chance to score $10,000 in funding! Deadline: March 15, 2024.
  9. Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems Concept Development . Window # 2 Deadline: April 15, 2024.
  10. The  Indigenous Reconciliation  Initiative provides funding up to $100,000 for cultural or economic projects through two streams. Application will open in April 2024.
  11. Enhanced Capacity Advancement Program : The next multi-year funding cycle intake is anticipated for fall 2025. Learn more to help you prepare.
  12. Agricultural Clean Technology Program : Program funding for the Research and Innovation Stream is $50 million. Program ends March 31, 2028.
  13. Supply Management Processing Investment Fund  contributes up to $5 million in non-repayable contribution to an organization over the life of the program until March 31, 2028.
  14. Agricultural Clean Technology Program: Research and Innovation Stream : program funding is $50 million over 7 years, with this stream ending March 31, 2028.
  15. Supply Management Processing Investment Fund  contributes up to $5 million in non-repayable contribution.
  16. Ecosystem Development Partnerships Program : building Alberta’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and creating competitive advantage through collaboration.
  17. Alberta Scaleup and Growth Accelerator Program  helps entrepreneurs bridge the scaleup gap, take their business to new heights and go global.
  18. Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT)  seek to invest in projects that integrate technologies in forest sector operations.
  19. Circuit Rider Training Program : supported by Indigenous Services Canada with more than $12 million per year. Application is ongoing.
  20. Indigenous Clean Energy – Project Accelerator : $125,000 available to assist with the development of an energy efficiency project. 
  21. African Swine Fever Industry Preparedness Program: Prevention and Preparedness Stream : access up to $1M funding. Deadline: November 30, 2024.
  22. African Swine Fever Industry Preparedness Program: Welfare Slaughter and Disposal Stream :  access up to $1M funding. Deadline: November 30, 2024.
  23. FACTOR Video program : maximum of $40,000 in video funding is available per qualifying release per fiscal year, across all programs. Application is ongoing.
  24. Canada Brand  is open to export-ready, registered Canadian business entities that have a role in producing, promoting or supporting Canadian agriculture, food or seafood products. 
  25. Bursary for Internationally Educated Nurses (BIEN) : up to $30,000 bursary per learner. The application is first-come, first-served.
  26. Regional Quantum Initiative (RQI) in the Prairie Provinces : EOIs will be accepted on a continuous intake basis until the funding is fully allocated.
