Below are a number of upcoming grant deadlines:

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

JANUARY

  1. Digital Greenhouse program: Up to $50,000 funding available. Deadline: January 8, 2024.
  2. CanExport Associations: The 2024-25 application process is open until January 9, 2024. Access up to $250,000 in annual funding. 
  3. Small Community Opportunity Program: receive up to $100,000 funding for local projects. Deadline: January 10, 2024.
  4. Smart Grid Projects: Demonstration Focus Area. Open to expressions of interest to January 10, 2024.
  5. Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) provides wage subsidies to employers to create quality summer work experiences for young people. Deadline: January 10, 2024.
  6. Energy Innovation Program Smart Grid Demonstration Call for Proposals: Program funding for this call is open to projects that request between $500,000 and $6,000,000. Deadline: January 10, 2024.
  7. CMF-Shaw Rocket Fund Kids Digital Animated Series Program: Deadline: January 10, 2024.
  8. Translation component of Arts Across Canada funds up to $25,000. Next deadline: January 10, 2024.
  9. Documentary Heritage Communities Program: Application is now open until January 11, 2024.
  10. MindFuel’s 2024 Tech Futures Challenge is now open for application. Final registration until January 15, 2024. 
  11. Community Facility Enhancement Program – Small Funding Stream: For financial assistance up to $125,000. Deadline: January 15, 2024.  
  12. Application is now open for the 2023 Canada-Alberta Drought Livestock Assistance program, providing livestock producers with up to $165 million to maintain breeding herds. Deadline: January 15, 2024.
  13. Artistic Catalysts component of Engage and Sustain: funds up to 50% of your total annual revenues, averaged over the last 3 years. Deadline: January 15, 2025.
  14. Cultural Heritage Initiatives Program: provides up to $25,000 to eligible organizations. Deadline: January 15, 2024.
  15. Community Initiatives Program (CIP) Project based grant stream: provide up to $75,000 funding. Deadline: January 15, 2024.
  16. Applied Research Tools and Instruments grants support the purchase of research equipment with up to $200,000 funding. Deadline: January 16, 2024.
  17. GHGT-17 Conference hosted by Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA). Call For Abstracts – Now Open. Deadline: January 16, 2024.
  18. Alberta Made Production Grant: The grant covers 25% of eligible Alberta production costs to a maximum of $125,000.  Deadline: January 16, 2024.
  19. Company Envelope: Top-Tier: maximum funding level for individual companies is up to $600,000; affiliated companies are capped at $800,000. Deadline: January 18, 2024.
  20. Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations: provides wage subsidies to eligible employers. 2024-2025 funding cycle deadline: January 19, 2024.
  21. Alberta Ecotrust Foundation’s Environmental Grants: Expression of Interest intake is now open until January 22, 2024.
  22. United Kingdom Fintech – Canadian Technology Accelerator. Deadline: January 24, 2024.
  23. Ethnocultural Grant Program: provide funding for projects that encourage people to share, learn, appreciate, and respect cultural diversity. Deadline: January 26, 2024.
  24. Energy Innovation Program – National Energy Systems Modelling Call is now open for EoI until January 26, 2024.
  25. Listen, Hear our Voices: Library and Archives Canada (LAC) will award eligible projects up to $100,000. Deadline: January 30, 2024.
  26. Community Initiatives Program (CIP) Operating stream: provide up to $75,000 funding. Deadline: January 30, 2024.
  27. Agricultural Societies Infrastructure Revitalization Program: maximum amount of grant that may be awarded for a project is $100,000. Deadline:  January 31, 2024.
  28. Building Capacity with the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways Program: Request for Proposals intake window is now open until January 31, 2024.
  29. Energy Innovation Program Smart Grid Regulatory Innovation Capacity Building Call for Proposals: request between $250,000 and $1,500,000 funding. Deadline: January 31, 2024.
  30. Hire a temporary foreign worker through the Recognized Employer Pilot. Phase 1 is now ongoing. Applications for Phase 2 will start in January 2024.
  31. Climate Innovation Grant Program: Expression of interest for the 2024 grant stream will open January 29, 2024.
  32. Biotalent’s Student Work Placement Program has reopened for January to March 2024 applications, with a limited capacity. Apply today before spots fill up!
  33. Green Industrial Facilities and Manufacturing Program – Energy Efficiency Solutions: access funding up to $20 million per proposal. Next call is anticipated to be launched in early 2024. 
  34. International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) offers Canadian youth to gain professional experience abroad in the field of international development. More internship opportunities are coming in 2024. 
  35. Agri-Food and Bioindustrial Innovation Program: provides up to $500,000 per project and up to 75% of total project costs. Application is ongoing.
  36. Rural Transit Solutions Fund of the Capital Projects stream: applicants can apply for a contribution of up to $5 million. Application is ongoing.
  37. Health Facilities Program provide funding for infrastructure that supports the delivery of health-related programs and services.
  38. Aboriginal Business Investment Fund: provides up to $750,000 to support an Indigenous community-owned economic development project. That could be up to 100% of eligible project costs.
  39. International Technology Partnership supports Alberta businesses with up to $250,000 to develop products or to conduct pilot tests with an international partner.
  40. Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles (iMHZEV) Program: provide eligible purchasing/leasing organizations with incentives of up to $200,000.
  41. Woodcock Fund: aims to distribute more than $100,000 each year in grants ranging from $2,000 to $12,000, depending upon the severity of the emergency.
  42. FACTOR Video program: maximum of $40,000 in video funding is available per qualifying release per fiscal year, across all programs. Application is ongoing.
  43. Canada Brand is open to export-ready, registered Canadian business entities that have a role in producing, promoting or supporting Canadian agriculture, food or seafood products. 
  44. Bursary for Internationally Educated Nurses (BIEN): up to $30,000 bursary per learner. The application is first-come, first-served.
  45. Regional Quantum Initiative (RQI) in the Prairie Provinces: EOIs will be accepted on a continuous intake basis until the funding is fully allocated.
  46. Clean Tech Internships: Up to $30,000 is available to cover 80% of an intern’s salary, training and wrap-around service costs.
  47. Green Jobs Internship program: subsidize up to a maximum of $30,000 for youth ages 15 to 30 in the natural resources sector.
  48. Eurostars is the largest international funding program for SMEs seeking to collaborate on R&D projects for commercialization.
  49. Alberta Export Expansion Program: provides reimbursement up to 75% on eligible costs.
  50. Alberta Innovates is still accepting new applications for the Export Readiness – Micro Voucher

FEBRUARY

  1. Digital Innovation in Clean Energy (DICE) program supports the development of digital technologies that create value and jobs while reducing emissions in the energy sector. Deadline: February 1, 2024.
  2. Provincial Arts Service Organizations Operating Funding: designed to support your organization’s operations. Deadline: February 1, 2024.
  3. Neighbour Grants offers up to $7,500 to help people build their sense of inclusive belonging in their own communities. Next deadline: February 1, 2024.
  4. Resilient Agricultural Landscape Program:  Year 2 intake will open on February 1, 2024.
  5. Young Canada Works in Both Official Languages: benefit from salary subsidies and access to a pool of talented youth. Deadline: First come first serve to applications submitted after February 3rd.
  6. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has launched the Agricultural Methane Reduction Challenge, a $12 million funding opportunity aimed at decreasing methane emissions in the cattle sector.  Deadline: February 7, 2024.
  7. The Accelerator Partnership Program (A2P) is designed to provide producers of digital media projects. Application is first come, first served. Closing date: February 8, 2024.
  8. Low Carbon Economy Challenge: application is now open until February 8, 2024.
  9. The Agricultural Societies Infrastructure Revitalization Program provides annual capital funding to help agricultural societies make major repairs to existing infrastructure. Deadline: February 15, 2024.
  10. ClimateWest has a total of $300,000 in funding available to support approved projects. Up to $50,000 may be awarded per project proposal. Deadline: February 20, 2024.
  11. Energy Innovation Program – Carbon capture, utilization and storage RD&D Call – Utilization Focus Area is now open until February 23, 2024.
  12. Disaster Recovery Program provides financial assistance for uninsurable loss and damage caused by emergencies and disasters. Deadline: February 26, 2024.   
  13. Alberta Real Estate Foundation funds initiatives that support and advance education, research, law reform, and other activities related to real estate. Up to $250,000 funding available. Deadline: February 27, 2024.
  14. Boston and San Francisco digital health – Canadian Technology Accelerator. Deadline: February 28, 2024.
  15. Taipei artificial intelligence (AI) for technology- Canadian Technology Accelerator. Deadline: February 28, 2024.

MARCH

  1. ASEAN Watertech – Canadian Technology Accelerator. Deadline: March 6, 2024.
  2. Partnership Engage Grants: provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities with up to  $25,000 funding. Next deadline: March 15, 2024.
  3. Funding for Indigenous-led awareness and education projects for cleaner transportation and clean fuels. Call for proposals with continuous intake open until March 31, 2024, or until funds are fully allocated.

  5. Inventures 2024 Startup Pitch Event – Applications Now Open! Apply and have a chance to score $10,000 in funding! Deadline: March 15, 2024.
  6. ICTC’s WIL Digital program provides employers with a wage subsidy of up to $7,000 for underrepresented students. All placements must end on or before March 31st, 2024.  
  7. Funding for Indigenous-led awareness and education projects for cleaner transportation and clean fuels: continuous intake open until March 31, 2024.
  8. Emergency Management Non-Structural Mitigation and Preparedness program: provides funding to build resiliency and prepare for natural hazards. Application is ongoing basis until the funds are exhausted or until March 31, 2024.
  9. Counter Uncrewed Aerial Systems Concept Development. Window # 2 Deadline: April 15, 2024.
  10. The Indigenous Reconciliation Initiative provides funding up to $100,000 for cultural or economic projects through two streams. Application will open in April 2024.
  11. Farm Technology Program and Efficient Grain Handling Program: Eligible expenses will be cost-shared at 50% grant and 50% applicant. Programming will resume in April 2024, under Year 2 of Sustainable CAP. 
  12. Aboriginal Fund for Species at Risk: The application period for projects starting in 2025-2026 will open in the fall of 2024.
  13. Creative Export Canada: The $11 million per year will be divided into 2 funding streams: the Export-Ready Stream and the new Export Development Stream. The next intake will be in the winter of 2024.
  14. Enhanced Capacity Advancement Program: The next multi-year funding cycle intake is anticipated for fall 2025. Learn more to help you prepare.
  15. Agricultural Clean Technology Program: Program funding for the Research and Innovation Stream is $50 million. Program ends March 31, 2028.
  16. Supply Management Processing Investment Fund contributes up to $5 million in non-repayable contribution to an organization over the life of the program until March 31, 2028.
  17. Agricultural Clean Technology Program: Research and Innovation Stream: program funding is $50 million over 7 years, with this stream ending March 31, 2028.
  18. Supply Management Processing Investment Fund contributes up to $5 million in non-repayable contribution.
  19. Ecosystem Development Partnerships Program: building Alberta’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and creating competitive advantage through collaboration.
  20. Alberta Scaleup and Growth Accelerator Program helps entrepreneurs bridge the scaleup gap, take their business to new heights and go global.
  21. Circuit Rider Training Program: supported by Indigenous Services Canada with more than $12 million per year. Application is ongoing.
  22. Indigenous Clean Energy – Project Accelerator: $125,000 available to assist with the development of an energy efficiency project. 
  23. African Swine Fever Industry Preparedness Program: Prevention and Preparedness Stream: access up to $1M funding. Deadline: November 30, 2024.
  24. African Swine Fever Industry Preparedness Program: Welfare Slaughter and Disposal Stream: access up to $1M funding. Deadline: November 30, 2024.
