Description

As part of Alberta at Work, Workforce Strategies grants support organizations with innovative solutions that will help Albertans develop new skills and assist employers and industry to grow their workforce.

Eligible Applicants

Only employers (for-profit) and industry associations within the following 3 industries are eligible to apply:

  • Aviation and aerospace
    • Includes scheduled air transportation, non-scheduled air transportation, support activities for air transportation and aerospace product and parts manufacturing
  • Construction
    • Includes both residential and non-residential construction (commercial and industrial construction)
  • Technology
    • Includes information technology (IT) and communication technology (CT)

Eligible Expenses

The Alberta Industry Skills grant supports key industries address skill shortages through training opportunities and provides industry-wide benefits to meet current and emerging workforce challenges within Alberta. Projects are eligible to receive a minimum of $300,000 and a maximum of $1.5 million in funding. Program outcomes include:

  • Employers and/or industry associations will have the financial support to develop industry-wide training solutions.
  • New and/or innovative training solutions will be developed through investment and involvement of employers and industry.
  • Albertans will gain the skills necessary to adopt new technology or equipment, resulting in increased productivity for employers.
  • Albertans will gain new industry-specific skills that are recognizable by employers in an industry to address industry-specific skill shortages and gaps.

Deadline Date

Call for proposal period is November 28, 2024 to January 24, 2025 at 3 pm MST.
