Hi Everyone, A number of grant deadlines, grant events, and business awards are below.

1. Agriculture

Innovation Booster: maximum level of matching funding from CFIN will be 50% to a max of $100,000. Application intake deadlines: September 10, 2022.

Food innovation challenge: up to 50% eligible project costs will be provided. Full proposals deadline: September 16, 2022.

AgriCommunication Program: Applicants may apply for funding up to 70% of total eligible costs. Application is ongoing until ongoing basis until September 30, 2023.

Genome Canada is launching a new Climate Action Genomics Initiative with approximately $30 million available funding. Deadlines: LOI- Sept. 2022; Application – Jan. 2023.

Smart Farms Program 2022: CAAIN is dedicating $5 Million to projects under this competition.

Agriculture and Food Sustainability Assurance Initiatives Program: maximum total grant funding is $250,000.

Market Development Program for Turkey and Chicken: The program will provide over $44 million to the sector over the next 10 years. Learn more:

2. Arts and Culture

The Career Development Grant provides funding assistance (up to $4,000) for individual heritage practitioners. Applications now open through rolling intake for 2022.

SXSW 2023 Applications Open June 28: This is your chance to be a part of one of the most diverse, collaborative, and inventive communities in the world. Learn more.

Original Peoples Investment Program: Total funding available for this program is $650,000. Full guidelines will be available by August 2022.

Artist Manager Program Funding: up to 100% of eligible expenses that are directly related to carrying out your professional development. Deadlines: September 1, 2022.

Project Accelerator Grant grants provide funding support (up to $10,000) to individuals and organizations undertaking small-scale heritage projects that tell Edmonton stories. Deadline: September 2, 2022.

Canada History Fund: The Fund supports the production of learning materials, the organization of learning activities and the creation or maintenance of networks. Deadline: September 15, 2022.

Movable Cultural Property Grants help designated organizations acquire cultural property of outstanding significance and national importance to Canada. Check here for more information.

3. COVID

Work-Sharing Program: special measures for employers affected by the downturn in business related to COVID-19 effective March 15, 2020 to September 24, 2022.

Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) provides $700 million nationally over 3 years, dedicated to businesses created after January 2020. Applications will be accepted through a continuous intake process until March 31, 2024.

Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI) in the Prairie provinces: With a total budget of $250 million over 3 years (until March 31, 2024), this initiative  will help the aerospace sector emerge from the pandemic. Learn more.

Canada Arts and Culture Recovery Program: the Government of Canada is investing $50 million to support Canadian arts, culture and heritage organizations that have experienced revenue losses due to the pandemic.

The Major Festivals and Events Support Initiative (MFESI) is a two-year, $200-million national fund to help major Canadian festivals survive and adapt to the pandemic.

Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program: COVID-19 Resilience stream: The maximum size of projects under the stream is set at $10M total eligible costs.

The Tourism Relief Fund (TRF) is a $500-million national program to support the tourism sector in Canada.

Indigenous Community Business Fund: access funding to support their community-owned businesses whose revenues have been affected by COVID-19.

The Digital Economy Program helps small businesses take their businesses online.

4. Employment | Varies

TECHNATION’s Career Ready Program: earn up to $7000.00 in wage subsidy per student! The Fall 2022 is now open.

TECTERRA’s HIRE Program is filling up already! Apply now.

2022 Google for Startups Accelerator Application. A 10-week digital accelerator program for high potential Seed to Series A tech startups based in North America. Deadline: July 28, 2022.

FREE government funded Self Employment Training Program offered virtually at Microbusiness Training Centre: date of the next SE class is on August 8, 2022.

Trade Pathways program: Alberta’s government is investing $3.2 million to train more Albertans for good-paying jobs in the construction industry.

Workforce Partnership grants: supports labour market adjustment strategies and workforce development. The 2022-23 application period is expected to open late summer to early fall 2022.

Alberta’s government is helping students gain hands-on skills by supporting Calgary Economic Development’s new work-integrated learning (WIL) pilot program. Learn more.

Hire a co-op student from the University of Victoria to join your team.

5. Environment/CleanTech

The Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP): up to a maximum of $2,000,000 available funding. Deadline: August 11, 2022.

Application for Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative is now open. Deadline: August 18, 2022.

ERA is seeking innovative CCUS technologies: Total funds available is $19 million. Deadline: September 12, 2022.

Energy Innovation Program – Carbon capture, utilization and storage RD&D Call: up to $50 million in support for FEED studies for large-scale CCUS facilities. Deadline to submit Expression of Interest: October 3, 2022.

Zero Emission Transit Fund: the Government of Canada is investing $2.75 billion over five years through this program. Apply here.

Alberta Methane Emissions Program: $17-million program funded by the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) system.

The call for proposals for the Natural Resources Canada ISO 50001 program for commercial and institutional buildings will open in Fall 2022. Maximum of $40,000 per facility grant available. Stay tuned!

Remote Area Heating Allowance Program: you may be eligible for a 25% rebate on heating oil and/or propane purchases. The program is scheduled to scheduled to expire March 31, 2023.

6. Export

Alberta Export Expansion Program: up to a combined maximum of $25,000 in approved grant agreement per program year. Now accepting applications.

Canada – Spain 2022 collaborative industrial research and development call for proposals and receive up to $500,000 CAD reimbursement. Canadian registration deadline: August 17, 2022.

CanExport Community Investments: provides non-repayable contributions up to $500,000. Will be accepting new applications for the 2023 call for proposal in September – October 2022.

EUREKA: Projects are financed through national public and private funding mechanisms, including the NRC’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) for Canadian SMEs.

Startup Global: Pitch to win cash and fund the business of your dreams. Total prize pool of $75k.

Export Readiness – Micro Vouchers: with up to $20,000 funding to build and develop a strategic approach for expansion globally. Set to end on May 1, 2023 or when all funds are disbursed.

Soft Landing: Scale From Home: Canada’s Tech Network’s Soft Landing: Scale From Home program offers qualified tech-driven startups and scale-ups exposure to digital business opportunities by offering $4,000 CAD in reimbursable marketing and sales expenses.

7. Indigenous

Residential schools memorial: Up to $1 million fund to honour residential school students who never came home. Deadline:  July 29, 2022.

The Aboriginal Business Investment Fund (ABIF): Application is now open until September 30, 2022.

First Nations Enhanced Education Infrastructure Fund: provides funding to build new schools, renovate and expand existing facilities, and operate and maintain existing education infrastructure.  Deadline: September 30.

The Community Policing Grant will offer up to $30,000 to Indigenous and municipal communities to assist in preparing a business case outlining local needs, capital requirements and transition considerations.

First Nation Infrastructure Fund helps to improve the quality of life and the environment in First Nations communities. The deadline to submit your First Nation Infrastructure Investment Plan is in the fall of each year.

Indigenous Services Canada’s Emergency Management Assistance Program (EMAP) helps communities on reserve access emergency assistance services.

Métis Entrepreneurs’ Assistance Program (MEAP): It can provide up to 30% of your project total to a maximum of $99,999.

The Tribal Council Funding program provides core operational funding to tribal councils to deliver programs and services to their member First Nations and to support their capacity development.

Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Program: Access to Business Opportunities: Eligible activities will be reimbursed for 100% of costs, to a maximum of $500,000.

Health Facilities Program: Through this program provides funding for infrastructure that supports the delivery of health-related programs and services. Application is on an ongoing basis.

Climate Change and Health Adaptation Program: This program funds First Nations and Inuit communities’ efforts to build capacity to adapt to the health impacts of climate change. Learn more.

8. Municipalities

Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Program: up to 75% of project cost-shared funding for water supply and treatment, and wastewater treatment and disposal. Deadline: November 30, 2022.

Recreation Energy Conservation Program: up to $750,000 funding available. Deadline: First come, first-serve basis.

Pilot project: Retrofit or new construction of sustainable affordable housing: Grants of up to $500,000 to cover up to 80% of your eligible costs.

Asset management grants for municipalities: 90% of total eligible project costs, to a maximum of $50,000 for applicants available grant.

Preservation Funding for community housing: provides financial assistance to support the cost of completing preservation activities up to $50,000 funding. Application is on going.

Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund (DMAF): Up to 100% maximum federal contribution from all sources of the total eligible expenditures for a given project. Scheduled to end in 2033.

9. Non-Profit

Alberta Health Services: submit a request for expressions of interest and qualifications (RFEOIQ): Budget 2022 includes $750 million for home care. Deadline: July 28, 2022.

The Catherine Donnelly Foundation provides one-year project grants generally in the $10,000 to $50,000 range. Deadline: August 4, 2022.

Alberta’s government is investing $4 million to help get more Alberta kids and youth active. Deadline: August 7 or  until funds are distributed.

Donation Fund Program matching campaign maximum matching funding per eligible organization is $10,000.Deadline: August 30, 2022.

Housing Incentive Program: A grant of up to $50,000 towards pre-development activities for an affordable housing project.

CNOOC International’s Community Investment program helps strengthen the communities where we live and work. Application is ongoing.

Applications are now open for $50 million in funding in 2022-23 for non-profit child care spaces. Check here.

10. Post Secondary | Varies

The Discovery Grants program supports ongoing programs of research with long-term goals rather than a single short-term project or collection of projects. Deadline for notification of intent: August 1, 2022.

Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program: program supports the training and mentoring of teams of highly qualified students and postdoctoral fellows for a maximum of $1.65M over six years. Deadline: September 22, 2022.

The Small Institution Fund (SIF) fund to a maximum of $400,000 or $800,000. Next deadline: October 15, 2022.

Alliance Consortia Quantum grants: supporting coordinated quantum research and innovation with $500,000 to $1 million funding per year. Deadline: October 21, 2022.

Call for proposals – Strengthening Canada’s quantum research and innovation capacity: Grant support ranges from $50,000 to $300,000 per year, for a duration of up to five years.

The Infrastructure Operating Fund (IOF) helps cover a portion of the operating and maintenance costs of CFI-funded research infrastructure to ensure its optimal use.

The Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund provides up to $2 billion for infrastructure projects at post-secondary institutions.

11. Technology | Varies

Bi-Directional Electric Vehicle Charging Solution: PSPC, is seeking an innovative EV charging solution that promotes increased adoption of electric vehicles while using bidirectional energy. Deadline: July 20, 2022.

Robot round-up – Advanced robotics platforms and control solutions: The IDEaS program will be investing $1.6 billion in innovations for defence and security over the next 20 years. Deadline: August 2, 2022.

Through the $19 million ACT4 Call, ERA is seeking innovative CCUS technologies with strong potential for commercialization in Alberta. Deadline: September 12, 2022.

Expanded Technologies Pilot: Submit an Expression of Interest to demonstrate the value of your technology and receive up to  $1,000,000 funding. Deadline: March 31, 2023.

Vouchers help Alberta’s high potential, high growth, technology and knowledge-based small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Eligible applicants can apply for funding up to $100,000.
