A number of grant deadlines, grant events, and business awards are below.

1. Agriculture

AgriRisk Initiatives (ARI): funding is approximately $55 million over five years, with the program ending March 31, 2023.

Farm Technology Program provides financial incentives on new technologies that are commercially available and already demonstrated under Alberta conditions.

AgriCompetitiveness Program  assists industry-led efforts to provide producers with information needed to build capacity and support the sector’s development.

2. Arts and Culture

CIP Major Cultural and Sport Events grant: maximum funding available is $250,000. Deadline: April 1, 2022.

Public Outreach component of Arts Across Canada: provides up to $100, 000. Deadline: April 6, 2022.

Artists and Education Funding: supports Alberta schools by subsidizing fees of professional Alberta artists. Deadline: May 2, 2022.

Professional Development for Artists component of Explore and Create: up to $10 000 funding available. Next cut-off date: June 1, 2022.

3. COVID

Making Cultural Spaces Safe During COVID-19 Initiative. Open for projects to be carried out before March 31, 2022.

The Canada Recovery Hiring Program (CRHP) has been extended to May 7, 2022.

U.S. Mission to Canada Funding Opportunities: Combatting COVID-19 Grant Program with up to $100,00 grant available. Deadline: July 6, 2022.

Restrictions Exemption Program – Safety training: provide $1 million in grant funding to support Alberta workers.

Restrictions Exemption Program Implementation Grant: provides $2,000 for eligible small- and medium-sized organizations.

Work-Sharing Program: special measures for employers affected by the downturn in business related to COVID-19 effective March 15, 2020 to September 24, 2022.

COVID-19 wage and hiring support for businesses: enable you to re-hire workers, help prevent further job losses, and ease your business back into normal operations.

COVID-19 rent and property expense support for businesses: you may be eligible for a subsidy to cover part of your commercial rent or property expenses.

Indigenous Community Business Fund: access funding to support their community-owned businesses whose revenues have been affected by COVID-19.

NSERC Alliance COVID-19 grants: up to $50,000 for one-year projects is being made available immediately.

The Digital Economy Program helps small businesses take their businesses online.

Stay tuned to the third intake of the Alberta Jobs Now program: up to $370 million funding assistance.

4. Employment | Varies

Accessibility Work Experience Program: Receive a wage subsidy between $12.50/hour and $15/hour for a four-to-six-month position. Deadline: March 31, 2022.

Strive 4 Work: receive a living allowance of $15/hr while attending the 8 weeks of skills training. Apply now! Program Starts April 4, 2022.

Workforce Partnerships grants: 2022-23 Expressions of Interest application period will open late summer to early fall 2022.

The Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) is a $700-million federal program to support regional job creation and position local economies for long-term growth.

Youth Employment Program funds up to $30,000 wages per employee.

Mitacs provides assistance to Canadian businesses who have ambitious innovation plans. Up to $15,000 awards available.

Youth Employment and Skills Strategy – Funding programs: committed to help young people, particularly those facing barriers to employment.

Commercialization Associates: up to $105,000 per year for level 3 option.

5. Environment/CleanTech

Canada’s Low Carbon Economy Challenge Champion stream advertises 25% non-repayable funding up to $25 million. Expressions of Interest must be submitted by March 25, 2022.

Onshore Program – Emissions Reduction Fund: third intake is still open until March 31, 2022.

The $400 million Active Transportation Fund is now accepting applications. Funding is available for planning projects as well as capital projects. Deadline: March 31, 2022.

High resolution forest mapping is seeking the development of a software solution for the creation of high-resolution vegetation mapping data. Deadline: April 4, 2022.

The $250 million Rural Transit Solutions Fund is now accepting applications under the Capital Projects stream. Deadline: April 7, 2022.

Digital Innovation in Clean Energy (DICE): Project funding can be up to but not exceed $350,000.

Projects funded through Alberta Innovates’ Clean Resources business unit fall under one of five streams. Learn more here.

6. Export

Eurostars: It’s time to grow your innovative SME. Deadline: March 24, 2022.

Hong Kong property tech – Canadian Technology Accelerator. Deadline: April 13, 2022.

Canada – Israel 2022-23 collaborative industrial research and development call for proposals. Registration Deadline:  May 6, 2022.

Startup Global: Pitch to win cash and fund the business of your dreams. Total prize pool of $75k.

Export Readiness – Micro Vouchers: with up to $20,000 funding to build and develop a strategic approach for expansion globally. Set to end on May 1, 2023 or when all funds are disbursed.

CanExport Innovation is now accepting applications for projects starting next fiscal year (2022-23). Up to $75,000 in funding available.

7. Indigenous

Site Rehabilitation Program: up to $300 million in funding available. Deadline: 4th – 8th application period: March 31, 2022.

Youth Suicide Prevention Grant Program:  funding per grant agreement is from $40,000 to $150,000 per fiscal year. April 8, 2022.

Community Facility Enhancement Program: up to up to $1 million funding available. Small Funding Stream: May 15. Large Funding Stream: June 15.

The Northern Access Round is now officially open!  $80M in funding available. Deadline: June 23, 2022.

Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative: Indigenous applicants and organizations  may be eligible to receive program funding of up to 100% of eligible program costs.

8. Municipalities

The revised third intake period of the Emissions Reduction Fund – Onshore Program is now open. Deadline: March 31, 2022.

The Northern Access Round is now officially open!  $80M in funding available. Deadline: June 23, 2022.

Pilot project: Local home-energy upgrade financing program provides up to $500,000 to cover up to 50% of eligible costs.

Green and Inclusive Community Buildings: A second intake for this program is planned. Stay tuned!

9. Non-Profit

Affordable Housing Investment Program: Funding of up to 25% of total construction cost. Deadline: April 13, 2022.

Canada Post Community Foundation provides grants to Canadian schools, charities and community organizations. Deadline: March 31, 2022.

Youth Suicide Prevention Grant Program:  funding per grant agreement is from $40,000 to $150,000 per fiscal year. April 8, 2022.

The Community Initiatives Program (CIP), Project-Based grant stream provides assistance to enhance and enrich communities throughout Alberta by . Next Deadline: May 15, 2022.

The CFEP Large Funding stream is for projects requesting over $125,001 and up to $1 million. annual intake of June 15.

The Northern Access Round is now officially open!  $80M in funding available. Deadline: June 23, 2022.

10. Post Secondary | Varies

College Fund: Colleges can submit proposals with total CFI requests between $60,000 and $1 million. Deadline: Notices of intent must be submitted on April 7, 2022.

Collaborative Research and Training Experience program: maximum funding of $1.65M over six years. Deadline LoI: May 1, 2022.

Alliance International Quantum grants: Up to $25,000 for one year. Next deadline: June 15, 2022.

The Northern Access Round is now officially open!  $80M in funding available. Deadline: June 23, 2022.

Supporting STEM learning opportunities for women: Alberta’s government is investing $1 million in these bursary programs.

11. Technology | Varies

Oil Spill Response Challenge: $2 million Grand Prize will be given to the team with the best demonstrated technology. Deadline: June 1, 2022.

Zayed Sustainability Prize: apply to the US$3 million Prize with each winner in the Health, Food, Energy, and Water categories eligible to receive USD 600,000. Deadline: July 6, 2022.

Prairies Economic Development Canada has announced an investment of $3 million to help Alberta’s small businesses go digital through Business Link’s Digital Economy Program.

IDEaS program will soon announce a new challenge called Robot Round-up: Advanced robotics platforms and solutions. Stay tuned!

Business Scale-up and Productivity (BSP) in the Prairie provinces: Up to 50% of eligible project costs funding available. The next intake period will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned.

INOVAIT’s Strategic Innovation Fund: provide up to $125,000 in reimbursement contributions for short pilot projects. Check here.

Globe Forum 2022. Date: March 29-31, 2022.

Join Vineland Research and Innovation Centre as they present practical insights into the opportunities, challenges and markets for innovational automation in horticulture. Date: March 30, 2022.

Alberta Energy Efficiency + Innovation Summit. Date: April 6-7, 2022.

FCM’s Sustainable Communities Awards. Deadline: March 31, 2022.

Nominations are now open for the 2022 Alberta Community Justice Awards. Deadline: March 31, 2022.

RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards. Deadline: April 1, 2022.

EY Entrepreneur of the Year Program. Now open until April 15, 2022.

NSERC- Synergy Awards for Innovation. Deadline: April 19, 2022.

Nominate someone for the 60+ Achievement Awards. Nominations submitted after May 1 will be held for the following year.

Nominations are now open to recognize the dedicated and energetic efforts of Albertans who serve seniors with a 2022 Minister’s Seniors Service Award. Deadline: May 2, 2022.
