1. Agriculture

Food processors and bio-industrial processors may receive total grant funding of up to $250,000 per fiscal year through the Value-added Program. Intake period: Until July 12, 2021. link

The On-Farm Value-added Program provides up $250,000 per fiscal year to support primary producers who are adding value past primary production in Alberta. Intake Period: Until July 12, 2021. link

The Deep Space Food Challenge seeks to create novel food production technologies or systems for long-duration space missions, and which have the potential to benefit people on Earth. Deadline: July 30, 2021. link

The Market Assurance Program focuses on addressing the market assurance gaps for plant health, apiculture health, livestock health, biosecurity, traceability, surveillance and livestock welfare. Maximum grant an applicant can receive is $250,000 per project. Intake period: Until August 3, 2021. link

The Food Waste Reduction Challenge is currently accepting applications for Streams C and D. The deadline to apply is August 31, 2021.  link

Under the Mandatory Isolation Support for Temporary Foreign Workers Program – 3-Day Hotel Quarantine Stream, a maximum non-repayable contribution amount of up to $2,000 for each temporary foreign worker will be provided until the program ends on August 31, 2021. link

CAP programs are changing in Alberta and these changes will be in effect for the remainder of CAP which expires on March 31, 2023. Check out the programs availability.  link

Canadian Agriculture Strategic Priorities Program (CASPP) is a $10 million per year program of non-repayable contribution funding. Applications are only being accepted for projects with end dates on or before March 31, 2024. link

2. Arts and Culture

Applicants may apply for up to $25,000 to support one-time projects which contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of Calgary’s arts sector through the Project Grant Program – Organizations. Deadline: July 12, 2021.  link

Summer School Project Funding supports organizations in delivering residence-based art summer schools. Deadline: July 15, 2021. link

Alberta Made Production Grant covers 25% of eligible Alberta production costs to a maximum of $125,000. Application intake windows: Until July 16, 2021.  link

The Adapt and Innovate Stream of the Stabilize Program supports projects that enable nonprofit organizations to reimagine their organization’s business model in order to resume in-person, live experience opportunities. The maximum funding request is $75,000. Deadline: July 29, 2021.  link

The Individual Micro Grant program is designed to provide financial assistance to artists and professionals in the Alberta music industry who have been adversely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Deadline: August 31, 2021.  link

Artist Manager Program Funding supports a professional development program delivered by Canada’s Music Incubator. Deadline: September 1, 2021. link

Dance Individual Project Funding awards up to $15,000 for a specific dance project. Deadline: September 1, 2021. link

The Public Outreach component of Arts Across Canada supports activities of Canadian groups and organizations, as well as professionals in architecture. Up to $100, 000 per year to a maximum of of 3 years. Deadline: September 29, 2021. link

3. Employment | Varies

Earn up to $7500 in wage subsidy per student in each placement period through TECHNATION’s Career Ready Program. Deadline for Summer 2021 intake: August 31, 2021. link

The Alberta Jobs Now program will provide up to $370 million to help private and non-profit businesses with job supports to get thousands of Albertans back to work. Deadline: First intake is until August 31, 2021. link

Eco Canada’s Youth Employed in Natural Resources (YNR) offers eligible employers up to 80% of salary coverage. Application is now open! link

The Campus Alberta Small Business Engagement (CASBE) program aims to help academics use their world-class knowledge to assist SMEs in Alberta. Apply now before the 2020-21 budget is exhausted. link

Application period for Critical Worker Benefit phase 2 is now open. Receive one-time payment of $1200. link

BioTalent Canada announced the continuation of its Science and Technology Internship Program – Green Jobs (STIP) wage subsidy. The program provides up to a maximum of $25,000 per year—$32,000 for youth furthest from employment. Learn more: link

The VFC Externship helps leading startups enrich Alberta’s innovation ecosystem by exposing teams of interdisciplinary student volunteers from local colleges and universities to real-world business challenges. Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. link

4. Environment/CleanTech

6. Indigenous

Indigenous Agriculture and Food Systems Initiative supports Indigenous communities and entrepreneurs who are ready to launch agriculture and food systems projects. 7. Municipalities
