1. Agriculture

AgriTalent: A wage-subsidy program for recruiting young people into agriculture jobs is now open. Value: Up to $7,500 or 75 per cent of wages by recruiting young people into agriculture jobs. https://cahrc-ccrha.ca/programs/agritalent

2. Arts and Culture

The Museums Assistance Program (MAP) – Access to Heritage component provides funding to heritage organizations for traveling exhibitions in Canada. Deadline: November 1, 2021. https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/services/funding/museums-assistance/access-heritage.html

The Media Arts Equipment Acquisition Fund supports Canadian professional media arts organizations to develop technical infrastructure for the vitality and advancement of independent media arts in Canada. Organization Structural Change Grant has a funding envelope of $150,000. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until November 30, 2021.  https://calgaryartsdevelopment.com/programs/organization-structural-change-grant/

Organization Activation Projects Funding assists not-for-profit organizations by providing a grant to support COVID-19 relaunch and recovery in the arts sector. Deadline: December 1, 2021. https://www.affta.ab.ca/funding/find-funding/organization-activation-projects-funding

The Artist in Residence program receives a grant of up to $50,000, which includes $25,000 for artist compensation and up to $25,000 for project expenses. Learn more: https://www.alberta.ca/alberta-artist-residence.aspx

3. Employment | Varies

Earn up to $50,000 through Next36’s seed capital. Deadline: October 14, 2021.    https://www.nextcanada.com/next-36/

The Alberta Jobs Now program will provide up to $370 million to get thousands of Albertans back to work. Second Intake: December 31, 2021.  https://www.alberta.ca/alberta-jobs-now-program.aspx

4. Environment/CleanTech

TECTERRA’s Build program is now open until October 22, 2021. TECTERRA matching contribution: $150,000 to $500,000 per project. https://tecterra.com/programs/build/

Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program: Applicants with small and medium retrofit projects to existing community buildings ranging in total eligible cost from $100,000 to $3 million is accepted on a continuous basis.   https://www.infrastructure.gc.ca/gicb-bcvi/index-eng.html 

5. Export

Non-repayable contributions ranging from $3,000 to $500,000 are available through the CanExport Community Investments. Application for 2022 projects will take place in September – October 2021.  https://www.tradecommissioner.gc.ca/funding-financement/canexport/community-communaute/index.aspx?lang=eng

You could access up to $400,000 in annual funding through CanExport Associations. The 2022-23 application process is scheduled to commence in fall 2021. Stay tuned!  https://www.tradecommissioner.gc.ca/funding-financement/canexport/associations/index.aspx?lang=eng

You can apply for up to $20,000 to build and develop a strategic approach for expansion globally through the Export Readiness – Micro Vouchers. The program is set to end on May 1, 2023 or when all funds are disbursed.  https://albertainnovates.ca/programs/export-readiness-micro-vouchers/

6. Indigenous

Employment Partnerships Program provides funding to Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Program agreement holders for Indigenous workforce development. Deadline: October 15, 2021. https://www.alberta.ca/employment-partnerships-program.aspx

Canadian Women and Sport has awarded $250,000 in grants through the WISE Fund. Applications will be open October 12, 2021 – November 2, 2021.  https://womenandsport.ca/resources/wise-fund/

Indigenous groups and organizations can now apply for grants under the new $154 million Continuing Care Capital Program. Deadline: December 17, 2021.  https://www.alberta.ca/release.cfm?xID=79717BDD1DB80-C278-0809-461E56CB2DFBDE79

With a national investment of $500 million over two years, the Canada Community Revitalization Fund provides support to build and improve community infrastructure projects. Deadline: March 31, 2023.  https://www.canada.ca/en/atlantic-canada-opportunities/campaigns/covid19/ccrf.html

7. Municipalities

Municipalities can apply for funding for projects to develop and maintain local transportation infrastructure through the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP). Deadline: November 30, 2021. https://www.alberta.ca/stip.aspx

The Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership (AMWWP) provides cost-shared funding to help build municipal facilities for water supply and treatment, and wastewater treatment and disposal. Deadline: November 30, 2021.  https://www.alberta.ca/amwwp-apply.aspx

With a national investment of $500 million over two years, the Canada Community Revitalization Fund provides support to build and improve community infrastructure projects. Deadline: March 31, 2023.  https://www.canada.ca/en/atlantic-canada-opportunities/campaigns/covid19/ccrf.html

8. Non-Profit

The Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) is looking for dynamic youth who want to demonstrate leadership and a commitment to their communities. Deadline: October 29, 2021. https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/funding/enabling-accessibility-fund-youth-innovation.html

9. Post Secondary | Varies

Up to $115 million to cover eligible costs of infrastructure projects and up to $34.5 million to cover operating costs is available through Biosciences Research Infrastructure Fund. Receive a $6,000 award to conduct a 12- to 24-week research project in a partner country through Globalink Research Award Thematic Call. Professors can submit projects by December 1, 2021.  https://www.mitacs.ca/en/programs/globalink/globalink-thematic-call
