1. Agriculture

Protein Industries Canada will be investing $30 million into artificial intelligence projects. Send your EoI until November 9, 2022.

THRIVE – Shell Climate-Smart Agriculture Challenge: Up to $100,000 in funding to develop a proof of concept. Deadline: December 11, 2022.

Receive maximum level of matching funding from CFIN up to $250,000 through the FoodTech Next program. Full proposal deadline: December 21st, 2022.

AgriRisk Initiatives: Administrative Capacity Building Stream program funding is approximately $55 million over five years. Apply now before funding expires.

Matching Investment Fund is designed to help eligible companies and Food Technology Centres (FTC) with product development initiatives. Application is a first-come, first served.

Farm Technology Program: receive up to $50,000 to support the adoption of best management practices in farm technology and security.

Supply Management Processing Investment Fund: up to $5 million in non-repayable contribution to an organization over the life of the program.

2. Arts and Culture

Sector Innovation and Development component of Supporting Artistic Practice: receive up to $50, 000 to fund your arts projects. Deadline: November 9, 2022.

Media Arts Equipment Acquisition Fund supports you to develop technical infrastructure to advance media arts in Canada with $30, 000. Deadline: November 16, 2022.

Juried Sound Recording provides up to a maximum of $67,500 funding toward the costs of production and promotion of an original full-length sound recording. Deadline: November 17, 2022.

Arts Presenting Project Funding supports the public presentation of professional artists by reimbursing a portion of professional artists’ fees. Deadline: December 1, 2022.

Allard Foundation supports charities in Western Canada primarily in Edmonton and Alberta with up to $10,000. Fiscal year ends on December 31.

Invent & Adapt 2022 support a wide range of work that is centered on reimagining and retooling an organization’s future with up to $30,000 funding. Apply now!

Local Journalism Initiative: Funding provides support for you to hire journalists or pay freelance journalists to produce civic journalism for underserved communities.

3. COVID

Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program: COVID-19 Resilience stream: The maximum size of projects under the stream is set at $10M total eligible costs.

Venture Capital Catalyst Initiative (VCCI) is making available up to $450 million through three new streams. Learn more.

The Jobs and Growth Fund provides funding to businesses and organizations to help create jobs and position local economies for long-term growth. Learn more.

The Tourism Relief Fund (TRF) is a $500-million national program to support the tourism sector in Canada.

The Digital Economy Program helps small businesses take their businesses online.

The Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI) is a national program that will provide $250 million over three years to help the Canadian aerospace sector.

Arts Presentation Fund for COVID Recovery: the City of Edmonton allocated funds for artists to present and perform their work. Application is still ongoing.

The Major Festivals and Events Support Initiative (MFESI) is a two-year, $200-million national fund to help major Canadian festivals survive and adapt to the pandemic.

Short-Term Compensation Fund for Canadian Audiovisual Productions (STCF): extended until March 31, 2023 and is budgeted at up to $150 million dollars.

Indigenous Community Support Fund: request funding for needs-based support covering the period until March 31, 2023.

Recovery support for Canadian arts, culture and heritage organizations through Canada Arts and Culture Recovery Program.

4. Employment | Varies

Venture for Canada: Applications for Winter Internships are now open! You have until November 10, 2022 to apply.

SSRIA Business Growth Program provides valuable expertise to support your business growth, optimization and productivity for FREE. Fall cohort closes November 11, 2022.

Apply now to Futurpreneur’s Growth Accelerator program and have the potential to receive a cash award of up to $10,000. Deadline: November 11, 2022.

Skilled Newcomer Internships for the Bio-economy is now accepting applicants. Access up to $20,000 wage subsidy.

CAREERSNEXTGEN provides up to $7500 in funding as you support an intern. Learn more.

Green Jobs in Natural Resources application intake for 2022-23 is now open. Apply here.

Receive a student wage subsidy support through the AgriTalent program. More details here.

5. Environment/CleanTech

NEW! Decarbonization Incentive Program (DIP): you may request funding up to $10 million. Application is ongoing.

NEW! Habitat Stewardship Program for Species at Risk:  funds that support terrestrial stewardship projects with up to $100,000 per project. Application is now open.

ERA is contributing up to $5 million to CETP Joint Call 2022. Deadline: November 23, 2022.

Expanded Technologies Pilot offers support to your business with effective, commercially viable technologies. Access up to $1,000,000 funding.

NRC IRAP increased funding threshold of up to $10 million for larger research and development projects. Learn more.

Critical Minerals and Emerging Technology program aims to address sustainability while creating opportunity for economic diversification in Alberta. Application is continuous.

6. Export

Technology partnership delegation to France: Cybersecurity Applied to Mobility. Deadline: November 7, 2022.

CanExport Community Investments will be accepting proposals for the 2023 year until November 9, 2022. Covers up to $500,000 non-repayable contributions.

Canadian Clean Energy R&D Partnering Delegation to India. Deadline: November 25, 2022.

CanExport Associations: Up to $250,000 in annual funding available. Application opens in November.

Export Readiness – Micro Voucher is now open for applications. Apply to receive up to $20,000 to expand your international plans and build global export opportunities.

Alberta Export Expansion Program: provides reimbursement up to 75% on eligible costs. Application is now open!

CIIP Collaborative research and development projects: Up to 50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $600,000 for approved R&D Projects. Learn more.

7. Indigenous

Aboriginal Fund for Species at Risk: Project funding ranges from $10,000 to $50,000. Application for projects commencing in 2023-2024 is now open.

Request up to $30,000 funding through Alberta’s Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Grant Program. Deadline: November 16, 2022.

The Alberta government has committed up to $204 million in Budget 2022 for the Continuing Care Capital Program. The application deadline is Friday, January 6, 2023.

Indigenous Forestry Initiative (IFI): available funding per year is $1 million.

Indigenous Student Recruitment Initiative aims to increase awareness, recruitment, engagement, and retention of Indigenous students within all of AAFC. Application is ongoing.

Pembina partners with local provincial/state, non-profit and charitable organizations that support Indigenous and Tribal communities. Learn more.

8. Municipalities

STIP streams: Community Airport ProgramLocal Road Bridge ProgramResource Road ProgramLocal Municipal Initiatives. Apply until November 30.

Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership (AMWWP): funding up to 75% of project costs. Deadline: November 30, 2022.

Local Municipal Initiatives: apply for funding to support your local transportation infrastructure projects. Deadline: November 30, 2022.

The Community Capacity and Innovation stream supports communities with the implementation of coordinated access and to foster innovation in the sector.

Green and Inclusive Community Buildings: continuous intake is still open and provides up to $3 million funding.

National Housing Co-Investment Fund: New Construction: you may access up to $75,000.

9. Non-Profit

Enhanced Capacity Advancement Program is now open! Funding up to $150,000.

Make a positive impact in your community through TC Energy (former TransCanada) community giving program, Build Strong. Deadline: November 11, 2022.

Request up to $30,000 funding through Alberta’s Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Grant Program. Deadline: November 16, 2022.

Calgary Foundation’s Neighbour Grants helps people implement their own small acts of community right by offering up to $7,500. Deadline: November 16, 2022.

Alberta Community Restorative Justice Grant: up to $50,000 per program to support the delivery of direct restorative justice services. Deadline: December 2, 2022.

Workers’ Memorial Grant: up to $300,000 available for the grant program in 2022-23. Deadline: December 9, 2022.

Through the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund, we support U.S. and Canadian communities where we have a significant presence or business interest. Learn more.

10. Post Secondary | Varies

Major Innovation Fund: The available allocation to this competition is up to $30M over 4 years. Applications accepted until November 15, 2022.

Globalink Research Award Thematic Call: Professors can submit projects by November 25, 2022.

RISE-Globalink Research Internship. Application is now open until December 15, 2022.

Mitacs Canadian Science Policy Fellowship places PhD holders in government host offices: Receive an annual salary of $70,000-$80,000. Application is now open!

Receive up to $3,000CDN through the Upper Bound Talent Bursary PRogram. Application is a first-come, first-allocated basis. Apply now!

College and Community Innovation program: Applied Research and Development grant is providing up to $150,000 per year for maximum of 3 years.

Alliance grants encourage university researchers to collaborate with partner organizations with up to $1 million per year funding. Application is ongoing.

11. Technology | Varies

Accelerating Innovations into CarE (AICE) – Validate Program: up to $300,000 CAD to support approved projects. Next Cut-off Dates: November 10, 2022.

Canadian Safety and Security Program Call for Proposals 2022 is now live!  Eight new challenges launched with deadlines on December 16, 2022.

INOVAIT- The Pilot Fund: Projects may request between $100,000 and $125,000. Deadlines: Pilot Fund – December 20, 2022.
