CFIN’s FoodTech Next program provides funding up to 50% of total eligible project costs, or $250,000. Expression of Interest Opens: August 1, 2023 until September 6, 2023.
Farm Technology Program: Eligible expenses will be cost-shared at 50% grant and 50% applicant. Application is ongoing.
Supply Management Processing Investment Fund: up to $5 million in non-repayable contribution to an organization over the life of the program.
Agri-Food and Bioindustrial Innovation Program: provides up to $500,000 per project and up to 75% of total project costs. Application is ongoing.
AgriCompetitiveness Program: access up to $500,000 over 5 years funding. Apply now before funding expires.
AgriMarketing Program: Provides support to increase and diversify exports to international markets and seize domestic market opportunities.
Protein Industries Canada will be investing $30 million into these artificial intelligence projects, benefiting the plant-based and agrifood sector. Send your Expression of Interest today.
Rural Electric Program: a cost-sharing program, which helps farmers cover the high cost of electrical service to farmers.
African Swine Fever Industry Preparedness Program: Prevention and Preparedness Stream funds aims to enhance efforts to prevent ASF from entering Canada and prepare for a potential outbreak. Application is ongoing.
Canadian Agricultural Strategic Priorities Program is a $10 million per year program of non-repayable contribution funding. Intake period is open.
Agricultural Clean Technology Program: Program funding for the Research and Innovation Stream is $50 million. Program ends March 31, 2028.
Operating Grant New Client Intake Program: Total funding available for this program is $800,000. Deadline: June 21, 2023.
The Future Focus Granting Program will reopen to applications and new guidelines will be released in July 2023. Information session is on June 27, 2023.
Alberta Made Production Grant: covers 25% of eligible Alberta production costs to a maximum of $125,000. Next intake window: July 2 to 16, 2023.
Summer School Project Funding supports organizations in delivering residence-based art summer schools. Deadline: July 17, 2023.
Special Measures for Journalism — Canada Periodical Fund provides financial support to Canadian print magazines, print community (non-daily) newspapers and digital periodicals. Deadline: July 21, 2023.
Medium to Large-Scale Festivals Program: Deadline: July 24, 2023 for festivals with start dates between April 1, 2024, and September 30, 2024.
Arts & Culture Festival Funding: provides up to a maximum of $14,000.00 per grant. Next Deadline: August 1, 2023.
Cultural Heritage Initiatives Grant: provides up to $25,000 to eligible organization. First Intake will be September 15, 2023.
Documentary Heritage Communities Program: Organizations can apply for funding during the annual call for proposals in the fall.
Community Performing Arts Organizations Operating Funding. Deadline: October 2, 2023.
FACTOR’s Live Performance program subsidizes the cost of domestic and international performances including showcases and tours. Application is ongoing.
Venture Capital Catalyst Initiative (VCCI): investing up to $50 million. Deadline for the second intake of the inclusive growth stream has been extended to September 20, 2023.
Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program: COVID-19 Resilience stream: The maximum size of projects under the stream is set at $10M total eligible costs.
The Jobs and Growth Fund (JGF) is a $700-million federal program to support regional job creation and position local economies for long-term growth.
Work-Sharing Program helps employers and employees avoid lay-offs by providing income support to employees eligible for Employment Insurance benefits.
The Digital Economy Program helps small businesses take their businesses online.
The Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI) is a national program that will provide $250 million over three years to help the Canadian aerospace sector.
The Major Festivals and Events Support Initiative (MFESI) is a two-year, $200-million national fund to help major Canadian festivals survive and adapt to the pandemic.
Recovery support for Canadian arts, culture and heritage organizations through Canada Arts and Culture Recovery Program.

FIRST (First Industry Research Science Technology) Jobs WIL: Funding of up to $4000 available to Alberta Tech Companies (SMEs) towards the hiring Alberta Students this summer.
Environmental Foreign Talent Development: receive 75% of wage coverage up to $15,000 to help cover full-time placements of 3 to 6 months.
Career Starter Program is now accepting applicants. Provides up to $15,000 in wage subsidies for a three to six-month job placement.
Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG) is a one-time taxable cash grant lifetime amount of $2,000 per person for registered apprentices.
Apprenticeship Service Program: receive up to $10, 000 when hiring a self-identified equity deserving first-year apprentice.
Indigenous Employment Training Partnerships provides grant funding to Indigenous communities and organizations to deliver group-training projects.
The Government of Canada is investing $25 million in Canada’s first-ever 2SLGBTQI+ Entrepreneurship Program. Learn more.
Solicited process under the Accessible Canada Partnerships stream – Expert Capacity Building Support for Accessible Canada Partnerships Phase 1 Projects. Access up to $300,000 over 1.5 years funding. Deadline: June 21, 2023.
Solicited call for proposals – Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities Program to support Canadians with a Learning Disability. The maximum amount per project is $2,000,000. Deadline: June 26, 2023.
Research Affiliate Program: Work part-time as a research affiliate with the Government of Canada, while pursuing your studies. Learn more.
Alberta Ecotrust’s Springboard Grant: Applicants can request up to $10,000 in funding. application intake will open mid-July, 2023.
On-Road Transportation Decarbonization Call for Proposals – now open! EOI submission until July 20, 2023.
Environmental Damages Fund: fund projects that restore damage to the natural environment and support wildlife conservation, in a cost-effective way. Deadline: July 26, 2023.
Greener Neighbourhoods Pilot Program Demonstration Projects support up to six Energiesprong-inspired aggregated deep energy retrofit projects in communities across the country. Deadline: September 14, 2023.
Alberta Land Trust Grant Program: application is now open until September 15, 2023.
NGIF Industry Grants $10MM GlobalCleantechChallenge is accepting applications for its second deadline. Application is until November 1, 2023.
Alberta Econtrust’s Environmental Impact Grant: request up to $50,000 in funding. Expression of Interest for 2024 will open mid-December 2023.
AMEP New Technology Trials Applications is now open! Access funding up to 100% of the cost of eligible projects.
Clean Energy for Rural and Remote Communities Program: An additional $300 million is available until 2027 for your clean energy projects in Indigenous, rural and remote communities across Canada.
Output-Based Pricing System Proceeds Fund: Decarbonization Incentive Program: Applicants can request up to $10M in funding for their project.
UPDATE: CanExport Innovation will be initiating an administrative pause on June 19, 2023. To be considered, submit your application by 5PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

Alberta Export Expansion Program: provides reimbursement up to 75% on eligible costs.

The Aboriginal Business Investment Fund (ABIF) provides between $150,000 and $750,000 to support an Indigenous community-owned economic development project. Apply now.
The Indigenous Reconciliation Initiative provides funding up to $100,000 for cultural or economic projects. Application is now open.
Clean Fuels Fund – Establishing Biomass Supply Chains: Still accepting applications from Indigenous. Learn more.
Circuit Rider Training Program: supported by Indigenous Services Canada with more than $12 million per year. Application is ongoing.
Funding for Indigenous-led awareness and education projects for cleaner transportation and clean fuels: continuous intake open until March 31, 2024.
Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Program: Access to Business Opportunities: Eligible activities will be reimbursed for 100% of costs, to a maximum of $500,000.
Professional and Institutional Development Program funds projects that develop the capacity of First Nations and Inuit communities to perform core functions of government.
The AEP Access to Business Opportunities stream provides national level funding to promote a culture of entrepreneurship. Eligible activities will be reimbursed to a maximum of $500,000.
The Strategic Partnerships Initiative (SPI) helps Indigenous communities participate in complex economic opportunities. $14.45 million is budgeted for SPI funding per year.
The Indigenous Reconciliation Initiative – Cultural Stream (IRI-CS): access up to $100,000 funding. Apply now.
Community Support Fund supports projects that address violence and/or increase safety and economic security for Indigenous women, girls and 2S+ people. Applications will open in summer 2023.
First Nations On-Reserve Housing Program helps provide more and better quality housing in First Nations communities in most of Canada.
Indigenous Forestry Initiative (IFI): available funding per year is $1 million.
Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund: support public infrastructure projects designed to mitigate current and future climate-related risks and disasters. Deadline: July 19, 2023.
The Housing Accelerator Fund – launching in summer 2023 – provides incentive funding to local governments to boost housing supply across Canada.
Resource Road Program provides funding to municipalities for roads used by new and existing industries. Deadline: November 30, 2023 for funding in the following year.
Community building recommissioning grant: Grant for a maximum of $55,000 to cover up to 60% of eligible costs.
Community Economic Development and Diversification (CEDD) program supports economic development initiatives in the Prairie provinces.
The Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) program promotes and enhances the well-being of Albertans, families and communities.
Municipal Asset Management Program: offer funding, training and resources to help you strengthen your asset management practices.
The Federal Lands Initiative is a $200-million fund that supports the transfer of surplus federal lands and buildings to eligible proponents.
Alberta Community Partnership aims improve the viability and long-term sustainability of municipalities. The 2023-24 ACP budget is $15.4 million.
Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) program is an 80/20 funding partnership between the Government of Alberta and participating municipalities or Metis Settlements.
Electric Vehicles for Municipalities Program: the program is very close to reaching capacity. Apply now before funding is exhausted.
Public Transit Infrastructure: apply for funding to improve and expand existing public transit systems.
Pilot project: Local home-energy upgrade financing program: Grants of up to $500,000 to cover up to 50% of eligible costs.

Community Initiatives Program (CIP) Operating stream: provides up to $75,000 funding. Next deadline: July 15, 2023.
Continuing Care Capital Program: Capital grant funding program to increase continuing care spaces in Alberta. Deadline: August 25, 2023.
Gay Lea Foundation funds Canadian charities working toward the relief of poverty, advancement of education and purposes beneficial to communities. Next annual deadline: September 10, 2023.

Outreach Initiative grants and contributions program provides grant funding to support variety of science- or innovation-based initiatives or projects. Next intake: between September 1 and October 10, 2023.

Canada Life – Stronger Communities Together: Supporting charitable organizations and initiatives across the country is one of the ways Canada life gives back to Canadians.

Idea to Innovation grants aim to accelerate the pre-competitive development of promising technology and to promote its transfer to a new or established Canadian company. Next deadline: June 19, 2023.
Continuing Education Indigenous Entrance Awards: supports equitable and inclusive participation in lifelong learning opportunities for Indigenous Peoples. Up to $1,000 toward tuition fees. Deadline: August 1, 2023.
Insight Grants support research excellence in the social sciences and humanities. Access up to $400,000 funding. Deadline: October 1, 2023.
NSERC is now accepting applications for Alliance Consortia Quantum grants: up to $1 million funding per year available. Deadline: October 16, 2023.
Partnership Engage Grants: provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities with up to $25,000 funding.
NSERC Alliance Grants support research projects with up to $1 million per year for 5 years. Application is ongoing.
Summer Research Studentships (Health Innovations): The award is meant to encourage students to consider pursuing formal training and a career in health research.
NSERC-National Science Foundation – Collaboration on quantum science and artificial intelligence: application is ongoing.
Applied Research and Development grants: funds up to $150,000 per year up to 3 years.
New ISC Challenge: Shipboard confined space examination program. Deadline: June 21, 2023.
Carbon Fibre Grand Challenge: $200,001 up to $4,000,000 CAD awarded to successful applicants. Deadline: June 26, 2023.
Bioreactor for 3D bioprinted vessels. Deadline: July 5, 2023.
Single-mode Circuit quantum electrodynamics device for quantum sensing. Deadline: July 12, 2023.
The ACT Open Call is a funding scheme that can support innovative and international CCUS projects. Application is open throughout 2023 until December 31, 2023.
The Artificial Intelligence for Design (AI for Design) Challenge program develops and provides AI technologies and capabilities to accelerate discovery, R&D, and innovation processes.
SDTC Start-Up and Scale-Up Funding: provides funding on average 33% (up to 40%) of eligible projects costs up to $4 million, with funds disbursed over the life of the project up to a five-year period.
International Technology Partnership Program: provides up to $250,000 in funding over a maximum eighteen month term.
Alberta Digital Traction is a funding program of up to $50,000 for small-and medium-sized Alberta enterprises (SMEs). Application is ongoing.
Strategic Networking and Development Grants: accept applications for support of up to $25,000 per project.

Digital Research Infrastructure Strategy to fund up to $375 million to ensure that Canadian researchers have the digital tools they need to support scientific excellence.
