The 2017 Emerging Immigrant and Refugee Community (EIRC) Grant Program aligns with the City’s business plan by supporting immigrant and refugee communities who are new to Edmonton and in the process of settling and integrating. EIRC Grants provide assistance to:
- Rent space
- Host community events
- Strengthen cultural identity and pride
- Partner and collaborate with other community not-for-profit organizations to address gaps in existing programs and services
Program Delivery Partnership grants are available for collaborative partnerships between not-for-profit organizations from within immigrant and refugee communities and established service providers. These partnerships will explore new and innovative ways to work together to effectively address gaps and barriers in existing programs and services.
Eligible Applicants
Partnerships will include at least one organization who is:
- A registered not for profit or public organization that has delivered programs or services in the community for at least 8 years
- Financially sustainable with a variety of funding sources
- Sound governance practices including annual general meeting documentation, year end financial statements that follow generally accepted accounting procedures, proof of annual filing with Corporate Registry
And at least one partner who is:
- A registered not for profit organization for 2 to 7 years from within an emerging immigrant or refugee community
- Sound governance practices including annual general meeting documentation, year end financial statements that follow generally accepted accounting principles, proof of annual filing with Corporate Registry
- Positive grant history with the City of Edmonton
