Description

The Heritage Preservation Partnership Program (HPPP) provides matching grants and scholarship funds to support initiatives that preserve and interpret Alberta’s heritage.

This fund aims to help develop skills in heritage conservation in Alberta by providing financial support to eligible individuals who wish to attend training and organizations who wish to deliver training in heritage conservation.

The Bob Etherington Heritage Conservation Fund was established through a generous donation from the daughters of the late Bob Etherington, who was a journeyman carpenter and joiner and a building inspector with the City of Calgary.

Eligible Applicants

The applicant must be a permanent Alberta resident planning to attend an eligible course/workshop in heritage conservation work. Preference is given to individuals who are one of the following:

  • registered Alberta apprentice
  • certified journeyperson
  • tradesperson working in Alberta holding a recognized trade certificate (Red Seal)
  • student in a heritage trades pre-employment program

Eligible Expenses

The funds may support the applicant’s:

  • tuition fees
  • textbooks, course materials and supplies
  • travel expenses
  • accreditation expenses
  • tools

Deadline Date

The deadline is the first working day of October.
