Private landowners interested in this program are encouraged to contact their local land trust.
Land trusts eligible to apply:
A land trust is a not-for-profit, non-government organization established to promote the conservation of biodiversity on private land.
The Private Land Conservation Program provides funding to:
The program uses funds from the Land Stewardship Fund, under the Land Stewardship Fund Regulation, to provide grants to eligible organizations. The Land Stewardship Fund is a regulated fund, the revenue for which comes from the proceeds of public land sales.
The Private Land Conservation Program is currently closed for applications. The next intake for the 2026-27 program is anticipated to open in spring 2026. Specific application deadlines for the upcoming intake have not yet been announced. Please visit the official website to verify specific details and guidelines.
