Approximately every 4 years, the Universiade ’83 Foundation Grant provides one time funding to Edmonton-based not-for-profit organizations or public institutions for a project or program that promotes sport or the arts in Edmonton.
Available funds are generated from a trust account established following Edmonton’s hosting of the 1983 World University Games (Universiade).
Priority Will Be Given to Projects That:
- Promote awareness of and/or involvement in sport or the arts in Edmonton
- Enhance an existing art or sport program
- Develop leadership in the area of sport or the arts
- Promote partnerships and/or collaborations
- Provide training for coaches, instructors, artists or performers
- Create a long-term benefit to the creative or financial growth of an organization or institution
