Dear Gazette Readers,
I want to give you an update on the Gazette, a newsletter that tracks important grant deadlines for your business.
To bring you as many grants as we can, we’ve been making significant investments in AI.
Like many of you, when I first heard “AI” is a big deal, I immediately thought, “here comes the next big thing.”
Remember these big deals:
I remember writing technology grants during the blockchain era. If you didn’t drop the word “blockchain” in your application, I felt you would lose.
Are all the things on that list important? Sure.
But AI is something regular folks like you and me can actually see and use.
Since 2012, we’ve been updating all the grants manually. We track over 1,800!
We are starting to use AI to improve our grant tracking and updating, so that you can win more grants!
In my world, it’s a technological marvel, and I’m pretty excited.

OPEN! FCM’s Tree Planting – Access up to a maximum of $10 million in project funding. Deadline: June 16, 2026 (aiming for the Spring 2027 planting season).
OPEN! Study: New construction of municipal buildings. Grant for up to 50% of eligible costs. Up to a maximum of $200,000.
OPEN! Adaptation in Action: Implementation Projects – Next available funding will be Spring 2026.
OPEN! Bursary for Internationally Educated Nurses (BIEN): up to $30,000 bursary per learner. The application is first-come, first-served.
OPEN! Tourism Student Work Placement Program. Deadline first come, first served.
OPEN! Student Work Placement Program (Co-op): Get up to $5,000 in Funding Support.
ONGOING! Local Journalism Initiative supports the creation of original civic journalism.
ONGOING! International Association of Fire Fighters, Canada Hazardous Materials Training Initiative: up to $500,000 per year.
ONGOING! Post-Secondary Sector and Scientific Knowledge in French Support Fund — Minority Language Education.
ONGOING! Eco-Action Accelerator: a 6-month part-time microgrant program with up to $5,000.
ONGOING! Energy Innovation Program (EIP) – Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) Call for Proposals. Application is on rolling basis.
SOON TO OPEN! Future Fuels Challenge – Fuel Innovation Fund: The first open call for proposals is anticipated to launch in mid-2026.
