OCTOBER

  1. Food Waste Prevention and Diversion: Research and Capacity Building Fund. Projects are eligible for funding up to a maximum of $150,000 per project. Deadline: October 30, 2023.
  2. Indigenous Forestry Initiative: grants of up to $50,000 are targeted to support Indigenous sustainable forest management projects. EoI deadline: October 30, 2023.
  3. Habitat Stewardship Program for Species at Risk: 2024-2025 is now open and will close on October 31, 2023.
  4. National Adaptation Strategy & Hydrologic prediction and innovation: may fund up to 100% of the project costs. Deadline: October 31, 2023.
  5. RDAR’s Accelerating Agricultural Innovations (AAI) 2.0 program is now open!
  6. Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT) seek to invest in projects that integrate technologies in forest sector operations.
  7. Affordable Housing Innovation Fund: will provide $550.8 million over 6 years. Application is ongoing.
  8. Land and Biodiversity Program funds projects that reduce the impact of natural resource development on the land and environment. Application is ongoing.
  9. Clean Energy Initiatives in Indigenous, rural and remote communities: An additional $300 million is available until 2027 for your clean energy projects.
  10. Community building recommissioning grant: Grant for a maximum of $55,000 to cover up to 60% of eligible costs.

NOVEMBER

  1. Rural Transit Solutions Fund of the Capital Projects stream: applicants can apply for a contribution of up to $5 million. Application is ongoing. Capital Projects stream webinar: November 14, 2023.
  2. Canadian Safety and Security Program is looking for innovative solutions for the challenge: Lighting the path with AI: Advanced analytics and decision support for first responders. Maximum amount per proposal: $2,000,000. Deadline: November 15, 2023.
  3. Green Freight Program: Stream 2 (Repower and Replace): capped at $5M and will be subject to a 50% cost share. Now accepting applications for funding until November 16, 2023.
  4. Enabling Better Health through AI (AI-Better Health): funding up to a maximum of $800,000 over 3 years. Deadline: November 24, 2023.
  5. Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership (AMWWP): Eligible projects can receive up to 75% of project costs. Deadline: November 30, 2023 for funding in the following year.
  6. Water for Life Program provides cost-shared funding to regional commissions or groups of 2 or more municipalities. Deadline: November 30 for funding in the following year.
  7. Resource Road Program provides funding to municipalities for roads used by new and existing industries. Deadline: November 30, 2023 for funding in the following year.
  8. Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP) provides funding to municipalities under 4 funding streams. Application is open until November 30, 2023.
  9. African Swine Fever Industry Preparedness Program: Prevention and Preparedness Stream: provide up to $23.4 million over 2 years. Application is ongoing until November 30, 2023.
  10. African Swine Fever Industry Preparedness Program: Welfare Slaughter and Disposal Stream: Application is open until November 30, 2023 or until funding has been exhausted.
  11. Study: Water conservation, community project: Grant: Up to 50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $175,000.
  12. EIP – Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) Utilization: support the development of cost and energy efficient utilization pathways. EoI: Opening fall 2023. Stay tuned!
  13. Call for Proposals under the Capacity Building stream of the Smart Renewables and Electrification Pathways is expected to open in fall 2023.
  14. First Nation Infrastructure Fund (FNIF) helps improve and increase public infrastructure in First Nations. Deadline: Fall of each year.

DECEMBER

  1. Ecosystem Development Partnerships Program aims to enhance the research and innovation ecosystem in Alberta. Depending on volume, applications received after December 1, 2023, may be held until April 1, 2024.
  2. Get up to $50,000 through the Environmental Impact Grant. EoI for 2024 will open mid-December 2023.
  3. Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program – For delivery organizations: total project costs up to maximum of $5M. Deadline: December 31, 2024.
  4. Alberta Community Partnership – Municipal Restructuring: The deadline for 2023-24 MR applications is January 15, 2014.
  5. Alberta Community Partnership – Mediation and cooperative processes: The deadline for 2023-24 MCP applications is February 1, 2014.
  6.  Green Construction through Wood (GCWood) Program: application is ongoing until Ongoing until June 30, 2024.
  7. Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT) seek to invest in projects that integrate technologies leading to greater energy efficiency and explore bioenergy carbon capture in forest sector operations. June 30, 2024
  8. Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program – For delivery organizations: total project costs up to maximum of $5M. Deadline: December 31, 2024.
  9. Green Freight Program: Stream 1 (Assess and Retrofit): is providing grant funding up to a maximum of $250,000. Continuous intake basis until March 31, 2027.
  10. Indigenous Housing Capital Program (IHCP) provides funding to increase the supply of affordable off-reserve, off-settlement and on-settlement housing units for Indigenous peoples. Application is accepted year round.
  11. Rural Transit Solutions Fund of the Capital Projects stream: applicants can apply for a contribution of up to $5 million. Application is ongoing.
  12. Implementation Readiness Fund: provides funding to deploy greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction projects and remove barriers to low-carbon technology adoption and 2030 climate mitigation action.
  13. Aerospace Regional Recovery Initiative (ARRI) in the Prairie provinces: Applications are eligible for a maximum of $10 million on any one project.
  14. Low Carbon Economy Challenge: The Challenge Fund 2023 intake is postponed. Stay tuned for update.
