Creative Producer Fellowship | National Arts Centre (NAC)

Description

Developed by the NAC’s National Creation Fund and Professional Development teams, the Creative Producer Fellowship equips producers (and people who love to make great art happen) with the opportunities, resources and skills to develop vital, culture changing performances and to establish sustainable careers.

We believe producers are critical catalysts for cultural change and deep community impact. We are seeking three ambitious people who share our belief in producing’s change-making capacity to join our inaugural Creative Producer Fellowship cohort.

Eligible Applicants

  • You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada, aged 18+;
  • You have a minimum of three cumulative years of making creative work happen;
  • At this time, the Fellowship is not for people who are exclusively interested in self-producing performances they are also creating for which they are also the lead artist/creator.

The NAC is committed to creating and sustaining a work environment that is inclusive, anti-racist, accessible, welcoming, and representative of Canadian diversity. The NAC actively seeks candidates who identify as women, Indigenous, Black, Persons of Colour (IBPoC), members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and people with disabilities. We encourage you to self-identify in the recruitment process.

Eligible Expenses

Each Fellow receives direct funding of up to $30,000 per year to cover their participation in mentorship opportunities, masterclasses, professional development sessions, and strategic industry networking. In addition, Fellows will produce their own independent projects (new or pre-existing), with the guidance and support of our team. Travel, accommodation, and per diem will be provided for work conducted away from the Fellow’s home community.
