1. Agriculture

Well Water Restoration or Replacement Program (WWRRP) exists to mitigate impacts of energy activity on rural Albertans. Deadline: Ongoing. link

The Agriculture and Food Sustainability Assurance Initiatives Program will support industry associations and industry-led non-profit assurance initiatives to develop and enhance sustainability certification or assurance systems to demonstrate to the public the quality, safety, and sustainability of products produced by producers and food companies. Deadline: Ongoing. link

The AgriScience Program aims to accelerate the pace of innovation by providing funding and support for pre-commercial science activities and cutting-edge research that benefits the agriculture and agri-food sector and Canadians. Deadline: Ongoing until March 31, 2023. link

2. Arts and Culture

The City of Grande Prairie through the Arts Development Scholarships supports and encourages the development of local artists and groups involved in the arts. Deadline: October 1, 2020. link

The City of Grande Prairie through the Arts Development Festival Funding accepts applications for festival funding, based on specific criteria, for groups and/or individuals wishing to apply for funds. Deadline: October 1, 2020. link

The City of Grande Prairie through the Arts Development Individual Project Funding aims to support and encourage the development of local artists and groups involved in the arts. Deadline: October 1, 2020. link

3. Employment | Varies

UPDATE: The Mandatory Isolation Support Program for Temporary Foreign Workers (MISTFWP) application deadline has been extended to September 15, 2020. link

The Entrepreneurship Sprint is an entrepreneurial work-integrated learning (EWIL) experience that allows early-stage student entrepreneurs, who have a new idea, to gain the knowledge and mindset required to pursue and validate their idea. Deadline: September 23, 2020. link

Next 36 focuses on the growth of you, the founder, teaching you the core skills and strategies necessary for building a business. From how to compete with established competitors to how to read a term sheet and beyond, we’ve got you covered. Deadline: October 14, 2020. link

The Clean Leadership Professional Internship Program, generously funded through Environment and Climate Change’s Science Horizons Program, is a wage subsidy initiative to help recent graduates acquire work experience within Canada’s environmental and clean tech sector. Deadline: Ongoing. link

4. Environment/CleanTech

Green Building Technology Network through Smart Sustainable Resilient Infrastructure Association (SSRI) will fund specific incremental elements of approved building projects that employ new alternate clean technologies. Deadline: September 18, 2020. link

Alberta Land Trust Grant Program conserves ecologically important areas to prevent habitat fragmentation, maintain biodiversity and preserve native landscapes. Deadline: September 30, 2020. link

SSRIA Business Growth Program supports your business growth, optimization, and productivity at a significantly subsidized rate. Secure your spot before October 15, 2020. link

UPDATE! Zero-Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative is extended until September 15, 2020. link

5. Export

CanExport Associations: Annual funding of up to $400,000 for Canadian national industry associations and trade organizations to pursue international business development activities. Deadline: December 1, 2020. link

Alberta Export Expansion Program helps export-ready companies and non-profit organizations enhance access to international markets and attract global buyers. Deadline: Ongoing. link

Protect yourself against foreign exchange risk without locking up your capital with EDC’s Foreign Exchange Facility Guarantee. Deadline: Ongoing. link

6. Indigenous

The Northern Aboriginal Broadcasting (NAB) component of the Indigenous Languages and Cultures Program supports the production and distribution of Indigenous audio and video content. Deadline: November 19, 2020. link

The Indigenous Courtwork Program (formerly the Aboriginal Courtwork Program) is provided through contribution agreements with participating provincial governments. Deadline: Ongoing. link

The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) administers the Indigenous Capacity Support Program, which is making funding available to support Indigenous communities and organizations to help develop skills to better participate in the impact assessment process. Deadline: Ongoing. link

7. Municipalities

Community Efficiency Financing (CEF) is a new initiative of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ (FCM) Green Municipal Fund (GMF). CEF supports municipalities and partner organizations at all stages of the journey for home energy upgrades. Deadline: October 30, 2020. link

Family and Community Support Services Program (FCSS) is based on the belief that communities have the desire, energy, and resources to build community capacity and therefore has made funding available to all municipalities and Métis Settlements that choose to develop and deliver social programs that are preventive in nature. Deadline: Ongoing. link

8. Non-Profit

Through the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund, we support U.S. and Canadian communities where we have a significant presence or business interest. Deadline: September 30, 2020. link

The National Crime Prevention Strategy’s Communities at Risk: Security Infrastructure Program (SIP) is to support the implementation of projects to help communities with a demonstrated history of being victimized by hate-motivated crime through the enhancement of their security infrastructure. Deadline: October 31, 2020. link

The Youth Justice Fund provides grants and contributions to projects that encourage a more effective youth justice system, respond to emerging youth justice issues, and enable greater citizen and community participation in the youth justice system. Deadline: Ongoing. link

9. Post Secondary | Varies

The Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program supports the training and mentoring of teams of highly qualified students and postdoctoral fellows from Canada and abroad through the development of innovative training programs. Deadline: September 22, 2020. link

College and Community Innovation Program – Applied Research and Development Grants are intended to provide companies that operate from a Canadian base access to the unique knowledge, expertise, and capabilities available at Canadian colleges and to train students in essential technical skills required by companies. Deadline: Ongoing. link

10. Technology | Varies

Projects funded through the Experimental Stream’s Innovation & Experimentation Program are Canadian interactive digital media content and software applications that are innovative and leading-edge. Deadline: September 17, 2020 (Innovation & Experimentation Program: Production); October 15, 2020 (Limited Marketing and Promotion: Innovation & Experimentation Program). link

Through the Real-World Evaluation of Cannabis-Based Medicines (mCannabis.RealWorld), Alberta Innovates will contribute up to $300,000 CAD to support approved projects over a maximum term of 24 months. Successful Expression of Interest applicants will be eligible to receive up to $10,000 CAD to support proposal development. Deadline (Expression of Interest): October 7, 2020. link
