he Apic program provides financial support to non-profit organizations (NPOs) working in Francophone minority communities (FMCs) in the arts and culture, identity building and civic participation sectors. Through a wage subsidy, APic aims to support the vitality of the targeted sectors, thereby strengthening the vitality of FMCs.
The assistance provided allows employers to fill employment opportunities within their organization for up to 52 weeks.
Eligibility criteria for employers
Note: Private organizations and those located in Quebec are not eligible.
Based on a maximum hourly rate of $22.50, Apic can subsidize up to 75% of eligible expenses related to the hiring of interns in a non-profit organization. The employer is therefore responsible for 25% of the wage costs (or more if he offers an hourly rate higher than that taken into account in the financing terms).
For 2024-2025 and 2025-2026, based on the following financial parameters, the maximum amount is set at $34,712.
The Apic program's 2026-2027 funding intake closed on January 9, 2026. Applications are no longer being accepted for this period. A new call for proposals for the 2027-2028 funding year is anticipated to launch in Fall 2026. Please visit the official website for the most current information and future intake announcements.
