The Province of British Columbia created the Community Housing Fund in 2018. This fund is a $3.3-billion investment to build more than 20,000 affordable rental homes for people with moderate and low incomes by 2031-32. More than 13,000 of these homes are open or underway across the province.

This fund supports the development and operations of mixed-income rental housing for individuals, couples, families, seniors, and people with disabilities, capable of living independently without on-site support services.
The Community Housing Fund is currently on hold, and the province has cancelled the current funding intake and indefinitely postponed future intakes due to budget reallocations. Applications are not being accepted at this time. Please visit the official BC Housing website for any future updates.
