Green Jobs Internship Program | Clean Foundation

Description

The Green Jobs Internship program, funding by Natural Resource Canada, provides employment opportunities for youth ages 15 to 30 in the natural resources sector. Program wage subsidies help Canadian employers in relevant sectors, including energy, forestry, mining and earth sciences, hire the talent they need to grow and innovate.

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible for the Green Jobs Internship program, you:

  • must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the internship;
  • must be eligible to work in Canada;
  • must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have refugee status; and
  • cannot be currently enrolled in school;

 

Eligible employers must fall into one of these categories:

  • Legal entities incorporated or registered in Canada, including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations;
  • Indigenous organizations and groups; or
  • provincial, territorial, regional and municipal governments and their departments and agencies.

 

Eligible employers must:

  • have an established payroll system;
  • be set up to receive payments by direct deposit; and,
  • have a process for supervising and mentoring interns.

Eligible Expenses

As a Green Jobs intern you will:

  • get access to paid internship opportunities, up to 12 months long, across the country;
  • gain skills and meaningful work experience in the natural resources sector; and
  • contribute to the growth of Canada’s clean economy.

 

By becoming a Green Jobs employer you will:

  • receive wage subsidies to help cover intern salaries;
  • provide relevant and meaningful work experiences to young Canadians in the natural resource sectors; and
  • gain access to skilled, job-ready, individuals in the clean economy.

Deadline Date

Intern applications for the 2024-25 program year are now open.
