Description

The Alberta government has committed a maximum of $15 million over 2 years for the Inclusive Spaces Program Grant (2024–26).

Approved applicants are eligible to receive funding based on project size and complexity.

Eligible Applicants

Existing non-profit facilities, private facilities and family day home agencies – Out-of-school care programs are ineligible for funding.

  • This grant funding cannot be used for new spaces or expansions.

Eligible Expenses

Eligible applicants for the Inclusive Spaces Program Grant may submit proposals that improve access to existing child care programs through either of 2 streams:

  • Accessible renovations – Renovations to existing facilities to enhance accessibility and inclusivity, such as wheelchair ramps, elevators or adaptive washrooms.
  • Equipment and materials – Purchasing items that promote inclusion, such as assistive technology, sensory equipment, culturally relevant materials or adaptive play structures.
