The maximum amount of assistance per applicant for the duration of the Initiative (including the enhancement) is $50,000.

Description

To bring agricultural producers and food processors closer to consumers by developing and consolidating local marketing and agritourism initiatives that meet consumer needs. The program consists of two components:

  • Component 1 – Support for collective initiatives
    • Plan, develop or consolidate collective local marketing and agritourism initiatives.
  • Component 2 – Support for individual initiatives
    • Support the implementation of a marketing plan to develop or consolidate local marketing and agritourism initiatives.

 

Eligible Applicants

Component 1:

  • Non-profit organizations (NPOs);
  • Cooperatives;
  • Business combinations;
  • Municipal entities;
  • Indigenous communities or nations;
  • Public institutions that are committed or have committed to setting a target for purchasing Quebec food while respecting the objective of the Initiative.

Component 2:

  • Farms that meet one of the following criteria:
    • annual sales of more than $30,000 and less than $1,000,000;
    • have an annual turnover of less than $30,000 and are able to demonstrate that they expect to achieve an annual turnover of at least $30,000 36 months after the filing of their application;
  • Food processing companies that meet the following three criteria:
    • annual sales of more than $30,000 and less than $1,000,000 and that come mainly from food processing activities;
    • the main use of raw materials of Quebec origin when available;
    • no subcontracted food processing activities.
  • New businesses that are able to demonstrate that they expect to achieve at least $30,000 in sales 36 months after the application is filed.

 

Eligible Expenses

Component 1:

Eligible projects are those that meet the specific objective of Stream 1 and that meet all of the following criteria:

  • Correspond to a collective initiative;
  • Respect the maximum duration established in the project submission period;
  • Submit eligible expenses of a minimum amount of $7,000 when submitting the full application for financial assistance;
  • Target local relational or geographical marketing or agritourism;
  • Fall into one of the following categories of activities:
    • carrying out planning, diagnostics or studies;
    • organization of accompaniment, development or knowledge transfer activities;
    • canvassing or business networking;
    • development of marketing materials and tools;
    • construction, adaptation or development of a point of sale.

Component 2:

Eligible projects are those that meet the specific objective of Stream 2 and meet the following criteria:

  • Respect the maximum duration established in the project submission period;
  • Submit eligible expenses of a minimum amount of $5,000 when submitting the full application for financial assistance;
  • Are part of the implementation of a marketing plan;
  • Aim for local relational or geographical marketing and agritourism.

Deadline Date

Projects are submitted continuously until October 31, 2024, or when the available credits are exhausted, whichever comes first.
