Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations (YCWHO) is an employment program for students. Eligible employers may benefit from wage subsidies and access a pool of talented youth with innovative ideas and competitive skills.
An employer may be eligible for funding if it is:
Note: Priority will be given to employers that submit applications for full-time jobs.
YCWHO generally contributes approximately 50% of total eligible employment costs (wages, benefits and other eligible expenditures), and may, if justified, contribute a higher percentage.
The maximum YCWHO contribution is in general $10,000 per job.
The Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations program operates on an annual cycle. The application deadline for the 2026-2027 program year was January 15, 2026, and has now passed. Future application deadlines for subsequent program years will be announced. Please visit the official Young Canada Works website for the most current details and guidelines.
