Canadian Cleantech for Mining Mission to Australia and Indonesia

Description

This mission aims to connect Canadian cleantech innovators with mining sector stakeholders in Australia and Indonesiawho are actively seeking solutions to reduce diesel reliance, improve mineral processing efficiency, and enhance energy resilience in remote operations.

Eligible Applicants

The Canadian applicant must meet all the following criteria:

  • be an incorporated, profit-oriented small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) in Canada (defined as having 500 or fewer full-time equivalent employees)
  • have been in operation for a minimum of 12 months prior to the project proposal deadline specified above
  • have a minimum of 5 full-time equivalent employees located in Canada (on your company payroll and issued a T4), excluding any founders and contract employees, by the Canadian registration deadline specified above
  • pursue growth and profit by developing and commercializing innovative, technology-driven new or improved products, services or processes in Canada
  • have a differentiated and protectable technology with commercial potential in global markets
  • have the financial capacity (working capital, sales revenue, investment, etc.) and the operational capacity (personnel, expertise, resources, etc.) to undertake technology piloting or demonstration while maintaining regular operations, and to subsequently commercialize the results
  • be committed to significant growth through international market expansion in the Indo-Pacific region

Preference may be given to SME applicants who meet the criteria below:

  • have a minimum of 10 full‑time equivalent employees located in Canada (on your company payroll and issued a T4), excluding contract employees
  • have commercialized one or more products internationally
  • have more than $500,000 CAD in annual sales revenue
  • have met the technology readiness level (TRL) 7 or greater

Note:  Large Canadian companies, although not eligible for funding, must also register for this opportunity in order to be considered as part of the Canadian delegation.

Eligible Expenses

Project funding through NRC IRAP will only be available to eligible Canadian SMEs. Large Canadian companies will need to secure funding from other sources or self-fund.

Canadian SMEs selected by NRC IRAP for participation will be invited to apply for up to $5,000 reimbursement of 75% of travel costs associated (economy travel fare and per diem) with the mission. Selected participants will be sent instructions and information about this support.
