The Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) Investment Tax Credit involves a multi-stage application process. Businesses must first submit a project plan to Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) for evaluation before the project's first day of commercial operations. This initial step is continuous and project-specific. The deadline for filing CCUS ITC claims with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is the later of December 31, 2026, and one year from the filing due date of the relevant tax year.
