Electric Vehicle Charging Program

The funding will cover up to 46% of your total project cost, which can be up to $100,000 in funding per location. Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations are eligible for the program.

Description

Alberta Municipalities looks forward to supporting your electric vehicle charging needs. We are proud to provide financial rebates for applicants to purchase and install electric vehicle charging stations in Alberta as part of the Electric Vehicle Charging Program (EVCP), funded by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) & Alberta Municipalities. 

Eligible Applicants

Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to: 

    • Businesses
    • Condominium corporations
    • Cooperatives
    • Indigenous communities
    • Industry associations
    • Institutions and schools
    • Municipalities
    • Non-profit organizations
    • Others, on a case-by-case basis

Eligible Expenses

To be eligible, the EV chargers must be new, owned by the applicant, and installed in Alberta. All projects are assessed on a case-by-case basis and must meet program criteria.

Funding is available on a go-forward basis. Projects for which construction work has already started or EV charging equipment has already been ordered will not qualify.

Potential applicants must review program documentation, apply, receive approval, and sign a funding agreement before funding is reserved. Expressions of Interest provide us with preliminary information about your project. We will then follow up with more information about the program.

Deadline Date

The Electric Vehicle Charging Program initially operated on a first-come, first-served basis. The program's initial funding is now full. However, Expressions of Interest are continuously being accepted for a waitlist for future potential funding. Please visit the official ABmunis website to verify specific details and guidelines.
