The Enhance Your Community Program supports priorities of northern communities and organizations that contribute to a healthy and strong community.
Municipalities, Indigenous communities, not-for-profit organizations, and Local Services Boards located in Northern Ontario.
Incremental improvements, repairs, and/or renovations to improve and extend the useful life of capital assets including; social and recreational facilities, municipal assets and community halls, that contribute to a healthy and vibrant community.
The implementation of priority economic development initiatives that respond to an economic opportunity and / or contribute to improved quality of life for a community and/or region, such as:
The Enhance Your Community Program operates on a continuous intake basis, with funding being limited and competitive. Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Please note that effective February 3, 2026, fire halls and related fire service activities are no longer eligible. Effective February 23, 2026, social enterprises may be eligible under specific conditions. Visit the official NOHFC website for full details and guidelines.
