The Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation Signature Grant is designed to support educational initiatives that align with the goals and recommendations outlined in the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, as part of an ongoing effort to foster meaningful conversations – rooted in education and understanding – held in the spirit of reconciliation.

Eligible Applicants

To qualify for the Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation Signature Grant, applicants must be part of one of the following groups:

  • a registered charity with a Canadian charitable registration number
  • a registered non-profit organization with a valid B/N business registration number
  • part of an Indigenous governmental organization
  • a provincially or territorially registered not-for-profit organization
  • a federally regulated not-for-profit organization

Eligible Expenses

The Signature Grant can be used toward operational funding, or toward specific project-related activities. Please keep in mind that grant applications just align with the Foundation’s focus on community-based activities that benefit children and youth across the country.

The application should also demonstrate that a need will be met and that there is little or no duplication or competition with existing services. In other words, the project should either be unique or complementary
